The Maze:
I woke up probably hours later to find myself tied to a wall, and I felt blistering heat at my feet. I stared down in horror. I was hanging above a boiling pot of lava. I tried to yell for help, but my mouth was tied shut. I looked around in panic, realizing that I would become a monster meal! Suddenly, I heard familiar voices coming in my direction. They said, " I think he's over here! Let's go!" and "John! Please come out big bro!" and "Where are you John? We need to find you to leave this place!" I thought I knew these voices- no, I was sure I knew these voices. I saw shadows, and I was right! I knew those voices! It was Jhyon, Jeanie, and Sasha! After they untied me, I ran into Jhyon. Tears were streaming down her face as she hugged me back. I let go of her and hugged the other two. I led the way out of the cave, and we found two other people. We all found a small hole big enough to hold 16 people. When we got in, we put our flashlights on and me and Sasha volunteered to keep a lookout for creatures. Suddenly, when I looked to my right- there it was. The Cajoler is hunting us. Oh for goodness sake when will you STOP. STALKING. US? I screamed in my head. I looked around and saw a rock on the ground next to me. I grabbed it and flung it at the Cajoler. It fell backwards, eyes closed, and I guessed that I knocked it out. I went outside, and dragged it away from the hole. I saw the Orotund on my way, but I just grabbed another rock and it flopped onto its side. I heard the Hunter, so I stopped dragging the Cajoler and bolted back to the hole- or rather, the direction I thought was the way to the hole. Well. It was settled. I was lost. "I'm such a SMALL BRAIN IDIOT!" I yelled as loud as I could. I went into a tiny hole only for 6 people, and hid in the corner, crying softly. Suddenly, I heard my sister scream inside of my head, and the following yelling in my head turned into pictures. And there I saw it. Fire. Blood. Everyone, Jhyon, Sasha, Jean... dying. All of them... dying.
Prisoner:
I woke up next morning with droplets of water splattering on my face. Okay, so, it looks like there is a leak. Sigh. I got up and looked around for Tamoi, because we were sharing a room. Damien and Cinnamon were sharing a room too, (I ship them) but Mora slept alone. I went over to a pile of cloth, squinted, then yanked off the blankets and revealed a tired, grumpy, cheek-squished Tamoi. I narrowed my eyes on her, and shoved her slightly. She snorted and mumbled, "5 more minutes Jeanie... too tired" I rolled my eyes and shoved her a tad bit harder. She whirled around and glared at me sleepily. "Stop! I meant what I saaaaaaaaaid!" She grumbled. I sighed in exasperation, and leaned in to look her in the eye, which, to my surprise, made her turn- PINK?, "Don't you remember what day it is? We need to go to find the exit of this crazy, new place with the HighFire. They said that they agreed to help us hunt for the way out. And there is a leak we need to fix" I reminded her grumpily. I was so not in a good mood today, one because there is no homework in this place (I know I'm weird), and two, I slept poorly last night. Me, Tamoi, Mora, Cinnamon, and Damien all found the HighFire last night while hunting for food. They told us that if we join them, they could try to help us. Of course, we all agreed. They told us to meet us at the gates, telling us that they would share an unknown secret. Tamoi, to my surprise (again), leaned into me this time, and kissed me slightly. I staggered back, and she giggled. I blinked, then I blinked again. I blinked so rapidly I thought my eyes would pop out. Arrrghhh! Tamoi, a girl that looks 10 when I'm 16, has a crush on me! Welllllll, I guess I am lesbian. Congrats, I just realized that you know now, whoop de fuckin' do. Then I realized something far more important with a shudder. Why is the HighFire team willing to share an unknown secret? Aren't secrets supposed to be, well...um... secrets? Oh no. I snapped into focus. I know why. I know exactly why. They wanted to lure us into a trap. A trap that I've seen my friends Tavern and Kimiko get pulled into a million times, and if I was right, then I need to make sure that my new friends don't face the same fate as well. Look, I may not be the best detective, but I know a thing or two about it, and I'm trying my VERY BEST! I froze. I have to leave, I realized, shivering. I have to leave right now. I heaved myself up the ladder onto the soft dirt above as Tamoi called to me to wait for her at the top. Grunting, I realized that without warning, I had strolled willingly right into a world of pure chaos, far from home. And what I realized after made me shudder so hard that I heard my teeth chatter. I now know that I have made my way to my probably very last moments of fresh air, life, and freedom.
Good Night Good Luck
Kashi shrieked loudly when we found our queen's body, and I smothered her mouth by clasping my hand onto it.She gave me a disgruntled look, then quickly backed away.
I sighed and said, "Kashi, don't scream. I'm half deaf, and I can hear you clear as day, so you are being very loud if I can hear you," glaring at her.
She shuffled her feet, not wanting to look me in the eye, then breathed a puff of fire at my face, then stomped away.
I sighed again, then I dragged Tavern away from the gates, thinking about how to find the Ilimoss that killed my mother.
Tavern whispered quietly, "What if we're next? What if the Ilimoss that killed her go for the rest of the royal family, us?" He shivered, then leaned into my soft shoulder.
I stroked his fur, then I said, "Don't worry. If they do become stupid enough to come for the rest of the us, I will SMUSH them and WHACK them with my four tails!" jokingly, and it made Tavern giggle.
I smiled hopefully, wishing that I could protect my younger brother and younger cousin.
Well, maybe only Tavern, 'cause I know that Kashi is really sassy and rude.
I won't allow the Ilimoss to harm Tavern, though, and I would sacrifice myself if it meant that they would be safe.
I won't allow him to get hurt, even if it costs my own life to do that. I love Tavern with all my heart, even if he sometimes screams so loud sometimes that I can hear him.
I will protect him.
Forever.
And ever.
It Lurks:
Night #2."Hey, I realized that I don't know your name yet. Mine is Jhyon." I said. "I'm John," He responded. I was about to say something when we heard a noise from downstairs. I made a quiet gesture, and we tiptoed to the railing. It was too dark to see, but darkness didn't change my hearing. Thump slither crack sluuuuuuuuurrrp. I stood frozen on the wood, terrified. "L-lets go inside," I said shakily. He nodded and with that we took off toward the door, and went inside. It was surprisingly clean for an old looking building. I checked for creatures and John turned on the lanterns that were left in the building. Something made a crash stomp in the closet, and John shot me a look. I nodded, thinking it meant to check it out. I grabbed the club from the school and we creeped silently toward the door. John took the door handle and I pointed my weapon. He flung the door open, and I pointed the sharp end toward the girl in the closet. She turned toward us, and my eyes went wide. I dropped the club in bewilderment. Jeanie, my best friend that disappeared a month ago, was here, in this crazy world. I flinched by how skinnier she looked, and how her normally straight hair was a mess. Jeanie's eyes went wide, but light dawned in her eyes when she recognized me. I opened my arms wide, and she barreled into me. I laughed and she said, "You're here! You're really here!" and I hugged her tighter. "Of course I'm here Jean! I missed you so much that I came into this world to find you!" I joked. We untangled ourselves from each other and Jeanie saw John. "Whose that?" she asked. I remembered they didn't know each other, so I introduced them to one another. "John, meet Jeanie, my best friend, and Jeanie, meet John, a boy I met from this world," I said. They shook hands and I felt light on my feet. Another friend to join our journey to escape this crazy world! "Well, I think it's time to go to bed!" I said cheerfully. Without another word, I dragged them onto the beds, and I agreed to take the watch for an hour. I heard another spider, so I grabbed my club and opened the door to go kill it. I came back with a few bite marks and blood on my side. John was awake, and when he saw me his eyes went as wide as the MOON. I snorted and said, "Tch. You better get used to this," mockingly. I went into the bathroom and took a shower, wincing as the warm water touched my bitten skin. After the shower, I began to feel VERY woozy. I tripped over a small piece of broken wood and I nearly strolled into a wall. I checked my bite marks and stared in horror. My skin around the bites were turning green. Next thing I knew, I groaned softly and I fell to the floor, unconscious. I thought I heard Jeanie scream with terror and John yell my name in alarm.
