I will be using characters and scenes from the cartoon show Disenchantment on Netflix, and of course BBC's Merlin. I own nothing, if that weren't already obvious by this being written on Wattpad as a Fanfiction.
Tiabeanie is quite the trouble making Princess, and her father, as much as he loves her, is struggling. So when the far off Kingdom of Camelot offer's a Union of mutual benefit, a Marriage Treaty to join both Kingdoms, he is more than willing to accept.
Bean doesn't want to get married, especially to someone she's never even met, she has no desire to step foot in Camelot. But when she discovers that the Kingdom isn't as Magic free as it's believed to be, she's rather intreaged.Unfortunately though, not with Arthur.
But with a drunken Knight.
Third Person
"Rise and shine Princess! We'll make it to Camelot in a few hours time, I hope you got your beauty sleep." Bunty, the Princess' royal handmaid said as she moved the flaps of the tent open to pass through. The middle aged woman tossed back the thick blanket that lay over the princesses cot. She gasped at the sight of the Princesses personal guard, Sir Pendergast, tied up in ropes and gagged with an annoyed look.
"Oh dear, she did it again." Bunty said with a sigh as she pulled the gag from Pendergast's mouth.
"Please. Let me go on a Crusade! Anything is safer than guarding that Princess!" Pendergast said as Bunty helped him untie his hands and feet.
Meanwhile in the Camelot Tavern the white haired Tiabeanie sat oppisite a burly man as they stared each other down with masked poker-faces.
"I'm all in." The man said as he kept his gruff look. The tavern was dark save for the stained light coming through the grimy windows at the front. Everyone was gathered around watching the gamble as the pile of gold on the table had grown very large. The gold on the table wasn't the only shiny thing there, Bean was also wearing her gold tiara, the only royal look about her. Her hair was a mess of tangles and knots and her clothes were that a common man would wear.
"Call." Bean said as she glanced up and pulled her crown from her head, placing it on the pile as the room collectively gasped. The man smirked and flipped his cards to face her.
"Two pairs." He stated proudly as he dropped them onto the table in front of him and made to grab the gold pile.
"Not so fast." Tiabeanie said with a smirk as she spun her cards to face him. "Three Queens." She said confidently as she held up two Queen cards.
"Well that's only two." The man stated in confusion. Bean raised a sly brow.
"One, two," She pointed at the two cards, "Me." She finished as she jerked her thumb at her face with a smirk. She dropped the cards to the table as the room erupted in whispers and gasps.
"Moneys mine." She said confidently as she stabbed her waist dagger into the round table top with a satisfied grin. The man's brows fell into a glare as he spun the table and grabbed the dagger.
"Not when I got the knife." He said with a wicked smirk as he tore it from its place and pointed it at her. Bean scoffed and picked up his jug of mead. She took a long hard drink, downing the whole pint in one go, before wiping her mouth with the back off her sleeve.
She picked up her crown and slid it over the dagger, twisting it until the knife flew from his hand and embedded itself in the wall beside them. She smiled and flipped the crown onto her head, before using her arm to scrape all the gold into her shirt hem as she held it up like a satchel and stood.
A man behind her grabbed her around the shoulders with both arms as her apponent stood with a smirk and tipped the table over to move towards her. He pulled back his arm and swung his fist forward. Just as he nearly landed the hit, Bean ducked and he hit his associate square in the jaw. He let her go and she dropped to the dirty floor and crawled out of the way. The man got back up, and hit him back, causing him to tumble into another fellow drinking.
An out right bar fight ensued, and Bean quickly stood still holding the money as she ducked and weaved through the fighters with a grimace, taking a man out with a right hook and another with a knee to the down unders.
A group of men rallied against her and she was backed into a corner. One made to swing an axe at her head but it was blocked by a sword. A man in chain mail, presumably a knight, with long, dark, wavy hair, pushed the axe away with his sword and disarmed him in a quick motion. As he stepped back the group was now more focused on him and he backed Tiabeanie behind him to protect her. Bean looked down at the gold coins in her shirt and then looked back up with a smirk.
With her free hand she pushed the knight behind her and launched the gold into the air. Everyone went scrambling for it, forgetting the fight all together.
"Com'on!" Bean called as she gripped the strangers hand in her own and dragged him towards the exit on the other side of the room. The knight sheathed his sword and let her tug him along.
A large group of crawling strangers lay between them and the exit and at equal distance was the man she'd played agaisnt, he looked beyond furious. Bean pulled the knight down with her as she let his hand go to crawl through the crowed of scavengers. As she led the stranger towards the door on their hands and knees, she spotted her chaser, and he grinned.
As someone passed between them she quickly hurried away. With the door in their sights Tiabeanie smiled in triumph. But as the crowd parted and they made it to the door, the man knelt before them, blocking the exit. The knight made to pull his dagger but Bean hit a man beside her in the back of the knee caps and he toppled on top of their chaser.
Bean and the knight quickly crawled out the door and slammed it shut behind them as she threw over her shoulder,
"See you guys tomorrow!" With a grin. She hauled herself to her feet with a smirk as she stretched her arms into the sky, popping her back. The knight stood beside her in bewilderment. He'd never seen this woman before, she was ridiculously daring and could definitely hold her liquor. He'd seen her drinking in the tavern all night, gambling as she went. Other than the last round, she'd actually been doing very well.
"Who are you?" He asked in wonderment as he looked her over. Surely she'd stolen the crown perhaps "acquired it" in a game much like the last, she was certainly not dressed like royalty, and had she been a queen, where was her entourage.
"Names Princess Tiabeanie, I'm new in town." She said with a lazy smile as she held out a hand for him to shake.
"Sir Gawaine, knight of the round table." He introduced himself in turn, making to kiss her hand, only for her to obliviously shake his. Gawaine smiled. He kinda liked her wild attitude.
A firm, heavy hand landed on Tiabeanie's shoulder and she cringed knowing just who it was.
"You've had your fun. Now it's time to meet you future husband." It was Odval, advisor to the throne of Dreamland, the most powerful Kingdom in the West.
