Katherine was the first to wake up at dawn, hearing how all those who had decided to sleep in the tents in the forest were getting up to go home. She tried to move, being aware at that moment that she was still hugging the brunette. It didn't look like Emily was willing to move, she was still sound asleep and Katherine didn't mind at all. She decided to wait for her to wake up while she stroked her back and looked up at the wooden ceiling, although every now and then her gaze strayed to the older woman's face. She was beautiful. She knew that beauty was subjective and everyone had their tastes, but certainly for her there was no woman more beautiful than the one she held in her arms at that moment. She didn't know how they had gotten to that point, she always thought Emily couldn't stand her and luckily that wasn't the case. She supposed it was all because she finally made herself known, although she hadn't really told the girl anything. However, Emily had told her many things about herself and her family, though she didn't think the only thing she was concerned about was her mother. She wasn't going to ask anyway, it wasn't fair for Emily to tell her everything if Katherine didn't even open up a little bit.
She was so lost in thought that she didn't realize Emily had woken up until she felt her body separate from hers. The brunette remained sitting across from Katherine as she sobered up a bit. Katherine looked at her with a smile and got up to fix her dress and tried to fix her hairdo as well.
一I hope you were comfortable, you look like you slept great tonight一 she tried to joke when she saw the brunette getting up from the floor also to fix her dress and without being able to help herself she went over to help Emily.
一 That wasn't bad. You're more comfortable than I had imagined一 she followed the joke by letting Katherine help her and once ready she smiled at her一 I'd better go find Steven, I hope he hasn't left yet... By the way, do you have someone to go home with?
一Not really. I let my friends take my carriage, they probably went home because they were tired from the party and I was planning to stay all night. Though I didn't expect I was going to end up sleeping with you一 she winked at her with that last, hoping to get any kind of reaction from the girl.
一Don't get too excited Walsh, I just used you as a pillow, no big deal一 she grunted before turning away一 You can come back with us if you stop being annoying for ten minutes.
一I promise to behave myself, don't you worry一 her tone was teasing but equally Emily knew she wouldn't dare say anything stupid so she let her go with her to find her brother.
They found the blonde next to the carriage, he was chatting with some friends while waiting for his sister, he knew she hadn't left the party because she would have told him so when he saw her he smiled and opened the carriage door to let her in.
一Katherine is coming with us, she has no other method of transportation and it seemed very cruel to let her walk alone一 she informed her brother as she climbed inside the carriage.
He simply nodded. The smile had been wiped off his face as he saw Katherine standing next to his sister and now he was looking at her very seriously. He let her pass before clearing his throat and getting into the carriage as well. He was all the way very serious looking at Katherine. She knew he was looking at her but her eyes did not leave Emily's face as Emily was telling her a story. When they all arrived at Katherine's house, which was not far from Emily and Steven's, Katherine got out and thanked them but Steven got off the carriage with her, leaving Emily to go home alone. He needed to talk to the brunette and folded his arms as he stared at her.
一Explain yourself Katherine一 he demanded without taking his eyes off her.
The girl looked at him confused and folded her arms too一 I don't know what I have to explain Steven. I don't understand this behavior of yours.
