Clash of the Bats

Chapter 4; The Man who would be Bat.

(Sorry for the wait, everyone. I've been so busy lately with work. But it's time to get back to it.)

3rd Pov:
The detectives were chasing Batman on the streets in their car.
Then at the last minute, they lost him again.
Just then, a flock of bats came flying in & the detectives followed them to Wayne Industries.

Ellen; "Well, Ethan, looks like your friend, Wayne, has some explaining to do"

Once Bruce Wayne was done with what he was doing in his office, the detectives walked in.

Bruce; "Detectives. What can I do for you?"

Ethan; "Drop the act, Bruce. We know you're the Batman"

Bruce was getting worried.
However,

Ethan; "PSYCH! Ooh-hoo! You should've seen your face! Thinking your the bat"

Ellen; "Mr. Wayne, you mind if we look around?"

With that request, they soon came to a lab.
Once they were inside, a flock of bats came flying in the lab taking Ethan & Ellen by surprise.

Bruce; "They're... part of Dr. Langstrom's studies"

& as soon as he said that, Dr. Langstrom emerged from a freezer that was in the lab too.

From what it was led to believe, Dr. Langstrom was working on an experiment that would cure deafness.
& the reason for that, is that he's doing it for his granddaughter who is "deaf".
Once Bruce learned of this, later that day he went to the house where the little girl was living in with her mother to give her a hearing aid, but when he tried to communicate with her via sign language, it's discovered that she can actually hear just fine, which meant Langstrom lied & something was up.

So, Bruce went back to Langstrom's lab & checked it out again.
Since he wasn't working on a cure for deafness, just what was he working on?
When Bruce checked through the lab, he found a notebook containing a lot of stuff on Batman.
Then, Langstrom emerged from the freezer again.

When the pounding stopped, Man-Bat crashed through the ceiling to escape.
Therefore, Bruce knew it was time to get back to the action as Batman.

Then the Detectives car pulled up forcing Langstrom to run.
Batman used a smoke pellet to escape the Detectives for now.
Detective Ellen Yin managed to find Langstrom & tackled him to the ground as he was just drinking his 2nd formula dose.

Ellen; "Alright, Batman. Where'd you ditch the muscle suit?"

Langstrom; "...There's much more going on than you think, Detective"

Batman then emerged from the shadows gaining Detective Ellen Yin's attention.

Batman; "He's right. He's more dangerous than he seems"

Detective Ellen Yin then turned her attention back to Langstrom.

Ellen; "Ok, so, your not the Batman"

Then Ethan arrived as Langstrom changed back into Man-Bat, knocking both Batman & Ellen to the side & grabbed Ethan & flew off!
Once Ethan was carried off, Y/n arrived on his motorcycle.

Y/n; "Oh, man! Looks like I got here too late"

Then Batman gave chase.

Ellen; "All units, I'm calling out a man hunt for Man-Bat"

The person on the radio she was talking to thought she said Batman.

Ellen; "No, not Batman. Man-Bat!"

Apparently, Batman managed to place a tracking device on Ethan & was searching for him & Man-Bat.
Then, the sun rose.

Y/n; "Well, we're just glad that you're OK"

Ellen; "We both are"

(Timeskip)

That next night, as Batman was checking things out, he gets a visitor.

Wing Knight; "Not bad taking down Langstrom. But we have to be prepared if Man-Bat ever comes back"

Batman; "Just what exactly are you trying to do?"

Wing Knight; "I can't go into full details just yet. I'm just not sure if I can trust you yet"

Batman; "Nor I, you. For now, for every encounter we have that doesn't involve us fighting the enemy, you answer 1 question I might have"

Wing Knight; "Not sure about this, but you got a deal. For now. Ask your 1st question"

Batman; "Very well. 1st off, where did you come from?"

Wing Knight; "I come from an entirely different dimension called Ventara. It's a different world that exists beyond the mirrors of this world. Only those who come from Ventara, or those who are accompanied with the individual from Ventara, can enter our 2 worlds as a 2 way street"

& Wing Knight left, & entered a window back to Ventara.

Batman; "So, it's not just mirrors. As long as he has access to any reflective surface, he can get in & out of any situation whenever he needs to. I need to find a way to access this 'gateway' so I'll know what I'm dealing with"

(Whoo! Finally. Another chapter done. When things start getting chilly in Gotham, how will Batman & Wing Knight fight off a possible serious case of frostbite? We'll find out in the next chapter. Until then, keep reading!)
