Back on Monster Island, Godzilla was now racking his brain trying to find an explanation of why he had attacked the wrong titan. He dug his giant claws into the sides of his scaly head, his thoughts completely mixed up like never before. "Kinjya wasn't even the real threat....he's only trying to protect Earth.." he said to himself while sitting on the mountain of Monster Island in a condition that was a mix of both anger and guilt. Mothra and Rodan were still on ground level by the beach, looking up at their king as he sat there looking like a complete trainwreck. Barb was on the other side of the island at the time, so she had no clue of what was going on. Mothra decided to take a risk and flew up to the mountain, landing behind Godzilla. "Gojira? Are you alright up here?..." she asked as she slowly inched closer to him. After not responding to her for a few seconds, he finally looked up to face her. "Yeah....I'm fine.." he answered in a tone that clearly contrasted his statement. He turned away from her again after this, staring across the blue water that stretched for miles. Mothra knew that Godzilla was not in the right state of mind judging by his face and voice tone, and was not convinced by what he told her.
Still determined to lift Godzilla's mood, she slowly made her way up his back, avoiding his spines in doing so, and laid on his head. "You know I'm here to listen if you're feeling down, Gojira", she stated. Godzilla knew that Mothra wasn't going to give up easily, and looked at his hands, of which had spots of dried blood from clawing at Kinjya's skin. He covered his face with his hands and began to cry. Mothra's eyes went wide as a cartoon, having never seen Godzilla do this before. Her face was the definition of bewilderment in this one instant. Rodan then flew up to the cliff and opened his mouth to speak but then heard Godzilla, and he went bug-eyed as well. "Mothra....is he actually...", he asked, but she finished his sentence. "Crying? Yes Rodan, he is...". Rodan was speechless and turned to look at Godzilla again, his eyes still wide. Both Mothra and Rodan were rendered completely shocked, as it was completely unheard of for Godzilla to actually cry in front of other titans. Rodan sat beside the two and looked up at Godzilla, who was still bawling his eyes out. Mothra sighed, and softly rubbed his head with one of her front legs. She hated to see her king like this, and began thinking up ways to improve his mood. Rodan also began to think about the same thing, and they looked at each other and nodded.
"So Gojira attacked you for doing what you had to do?!" Kinjya's mate responded after he had finished with his explanation. "Yes Aoku, he attacked me in Australia while I was searching for Bastinia. And he gave me quite the problem", he answered with an angered expression before facepalming. "The way Gojira and Rodan tried to attack me, you'd think they were on Bastinia's side", he added. Aoku's face immediately changed to disgust and she stood from her lying position. "If they are on his side, then they can kiss this world goodbye", Aoku blurted with contempt. She knew Godzilla was aggressive and wanted to preserve the natural order, but it was unlike him to just attack random kaijus out of the blue like he had with Kinjya. She sighed and looked Kinjya right in the eye, speaking again. "You may want to tell your mother and siblings about this, they'll want some choice words with him", she said with a stern voice tone. Kinjya nodded, and turned to face the sea. "I'll be sure to speak with them when they return from their run to the Hollow Earth. Godzilla needs to be reminded that he's the king and he has to know what's best for Earth", he answered to his wife, cracking his knuckles as he did so. Secretly, Kinjya wanted to pay Godzilla out for his sudden attack, and had intentions to actively seek him. But he didn't want to talk to Aoku about it, knowing she would disapprove. He turned back to his wife and embraced her, pinning his ears back and putting his head on top of hers. Aoku gave into it, and the two canine titans stood in the middle of their cave in a loving embrace.
Godzilla sifted through the various paintings from that cave in his mind, trying to discover what they all meant. Especially the one with Bastinia fighting the mystery member of Kinjya's species, which Godzilla was actively trying to find an answer to. Mothra and Rodan were down on the beach discussing what they could do for their king, but nothing was coming to mind. Barb finally showed up and noticed the duo speaking to each other, and decided to join in on the talk. "What topic are you discussing, my fellow kaijus?", she asked as she took a seat on a boulder. "We're attempting to think of ways to help Godzilla feel better from attacking Kinjya. We discovered old paintings depicting an old enemy and he's riddled with guilt" Rodan answered with a serious tone, turning to face the parasitic titan. Barb's face fell, and she looked up at the mountain where Godzilla still sat. "Need help thinking of ideas?" she asked as she turned back to Mothra and Rodan. Mothra nodded to this offer, and looked at Rodan. "At this point in time, we need all the helping hands we can get", she spoke with dignity. The three kaijus thought for what felt like hours when they heard Godzilla sound off his alpha roar from atop the mountain, and instantly turned to look at him. "What's he calling the others for?", Rodan asked as he stared. Both Mothra and Barb shrugged, as they had no clue either. "He must be calling them for a good reason, though" Barb said as Godzilla slowly made his way down the mountain.
Before long, all the titans had showed up to the island and gathered in the center in a kingdom-like circle. "Now that everyone is here, I have a serious discussion to have with all of you", Godzilla began once everyone was situated. "We have jumped to conclusions for all the wrong reasons, and I think Mothra, Rodan and Barb can agree with me" he continued, while the trio who he had mentioned nodding along with his statement. "What do you mean we jumped to conclusions? I thought you said this titan was the threat", Tiamat piped up. Godzilla turned to face her, giving her an angered, kingly stare. "He's not the true threat, and we found his name. He's called Kinjya, which means Fearless Warrior in the language of an old tribe that worshiped his kind long ago", Godzilla responded, looking around at all the titans. "He's only doing his job by protecting the Earth from an old foe of his species", he added. All the titans looked at each other and whispers were heard among them. Surprisingly, Amhuluk was the first titan to speak up as he looked at Godzilla. "Well if he's not the threat, then who is? You killed Ghidorah in Boston, remember?", he stated. Godzilla nodded to this comment, and then looked around at his team once again. "The true enemy is a giant black and orange winged canine that's older than Kinjya's own species. You may know him as....Bastinia", he said. All the kaijus developed shocked expressions. They knew that name all too well, and looked at each other knowing the true seriousness of the situation was now revealed. Bastinia was the true evildoer, and Kinjya was only trying to stop him. "I want you all to be on the lookout for Bastinia from this moment forward, and I think we all know now that it's important to know the facts first", Godzilla stated in a serious tone as he looked around at everyone. All the titans nodded in agreement, even Amhuluk. "And what if we do see this Bastinia creature? Do we attack him or report to you?" Methuselah asked as he raised a foot. Godzilla turned to look at the terraneous titan. "If you see him, don't attack him unless he attacks first. If he just keeps going along, then report the sighting to me, Mothra, or Rodan, and we will discuss the matter. We must keep Bastinia from wreaking havoc a second time", Godzilla stated to the team, looking at all of them. "This meeting is dismissed, you are all free to leave", he said as he concluded the gathering. As all the titans left, Mothra stepped up to the reptilian kaiju with a nervous face. "So what do we do now, Gojira?" she asked as she looked up at him. Godzilla looked up as all the others left the island and looked out across the ocean. "We're going to protect this planet from harm, just like we always do" he stated with a determined tone. Barb then interjected as she came up alongside him, asking, "But what about Kinjya? What are we going to do about him?", she asked sheepishly. Godzilla, still staring out to sea, inhaled and exhaled slowly to calm down. "I need to find where he's gone, as I owe him an apology", he said as he stared across the open sea.
