Jumping up from the sofa in their bedroom Kaia crossed the room and raced to Gabriel.
"I'm ready. Don't go back on your word."
"I'm not my love." He said kissing the top of her head. "I would prefer it if you would wait until our child is born but I will take you tonight. Just remember your promise."
"If he's not there, or he won't hand it over, we wait until she or he is born before I try again to get my bow back." He nodded and kissed her forehead again.
"Promise me?" He gazed into her eyes making her heart melt with the love she saw in them.
"I promise."
Zeus Square was bustling when they stepped from the portal and started to make their way to the Inferno, the huge creature nightclub owned by Cassiel's friend and the son of the devil himself, Lucius. The queue to get in ran halfway down the colossal square that was the hub of creature activity for Britain.
"The queue's huge." Exclaimed Kaia as she gazed down its length. Cassiel who had accompanied them chuckled.
"You don't queue when you are friends with the boss." Winking at the hind, he made his way to the main entrance where two huge trolls and an ogre stood behind a rope controlling who could enter.
Gabriel took Kaia's hand and placed it on his arm then followed his little brother. As they walked he glanced down at his beautiful bride. She had chosen to wear a full-length white satin chiton with gold trim to the fabric that flapped down over her chest and the hem. Around her curvy waist was a gold fabric belt and on her right shoulder her large stag head brooch holding the fabric together. Gold sandals adorned her feet so her brass toenails sparkled in the dim lights that lit up the square as she walked. He loved the classic Greek fashions on her. She said she favoured it because it was easy to untie a belt and pull out a pin if she needed to change forms. But he thought it was also a way for her to cling to her past. Whatever the reason she always looked stunning in his eyes.
He could see part of the massive stag tattoo Artemis had given her on her bare left shoulder. He found the piece sexy on his beautiful bride but often found himself musing as to why the goddess had marked her so.
Cassiel stopped at the rope and grinned at the largest troll. Trolls weren't known as being small, but this one was huge with untroll-like greenhorns poking out of his forehead. One of his large pointed ears was missing the top part and the other had a tear in the lobe, likely as the result of one of the many gold hoops that adorned his ears being ripped out. He wore only a leather waistcoat over his bare chest, revealing he was covered in tattoos all of which seemed to be either symbols of the gods or animals favoured by the gods.
"Hey, Nigel."
"Cas, you still owe me five dinars." The hybrid winked at him and fished in his pocket to produce the coins. Kaia was surprised that such a fearsome-looking creature spoke so articulately and with such a regal-sounding accent.
"You didn't think I'd forget did you?" The troll laughed as he held out his huge hand for the coins to be dropped into.
"Nah, I trust you. It's busy in there tonight." He said as he opened the rope and let them through. As Kaia passed he gave her an appreciative look which caused Gabriel to growl low in his throat. The hind pulled him with her so he didn't make a scene. For someone who seemed legendary for his cool calmness, it didn't take much to enrage him when it came to her.
Inside the club, Kaia gasped. They stopped at a railing so she could survey the whole place. It was like nothing she had ever seen. They were at the front of a wide walkway that made its way around the outer walls of the club. Opposite them was a huge balcony area that must have held three hundred or more creatures. Above them were three more floors laid out the same. Walkways around three walls and a huge balcony on the far wall. Below them was a huge stage under the balcony area and a polished wood dance floor in front of it. Each floor had two bars, one on either side of each balcony and one giant bar that filled the right wall on the lowest floor.
