Weeks had past Soul and Kid were both happy although they were quite annoyed with their relationship being a secret. Occasionally they did like their in-the-closet relationship because they knew it was only their secret to share. "You're really cute Kid, you know that?" Soul said in a low toned voice as he stroked Kid's head. The shinigami's face could not help but turn a bright pink as he stayed silent.
"Do you think we'll ever be able to tell everyone?" Kid questioned. A long sigh came from his lover's mouth. "I wish I knew." Soul muttered. Of course hearing this upset Kid but his main focus was on being happy with Soul and Soul being happy with him. The two both knew that the world today people had become more accepting, but they still could not help the fear the reactions of the school or their loved ones. Kid was even more fearful of the way his father might react. He was always told that the son of the great grim reaper had to be perfect. Was being a gay a flaw? Kid would ponder that question sometimes and just the thought of not being accepted by his father caused a major heartbreak.
Soul sensed his lover tense up, and he could tell when Kid would overthink things like that. Every time he saw Kid on the verge of tears he could swear that his heart would break at the sight. Turning Kid's body to face his own he began planting kisses on Kid's eyes and every little inch on his face. "Hey we'll worry about it when the time comes okay? For now let's just enjoy this moment.." Soul said trying to be the strong one in the relationship. Kid responded with a nod, he knew that if he spoke he would undoubtedly burst into gross sobs, and he did not want to stress out the albino with that. So instead they just spent the rest of their time in silence.
Durning school Kid was walking alone because apparently Soul had caught a cold, so he was unable to come. He would have felt completely alone if Liz and Patty weren't there with him. But after a while they just disappeared. Kid sighed thinking, "probably fangirling over a boy again or giraffes or something of the sort." These thoughts couldn't help but make him smile. He loves his weapons and he loves Soul so he felt like nothing would break him as long as they were there. Until he got this locker, where he saw the letter there waiting for him.
Kid felt his body tense picking the letter up. He knew this was not good this letter had a really bad vibe to it. Worried filled Kid up as he carefully opened the letter he found pictures of him and Soul being together. His eyes widen someone in the school knew but how!? He was sure he and Soul were careful when cleaning up their tracks.
" I know about you and Soul Eater Evans. It would be ashamed if these pictures spread around the school would it not? Or if your father happened to see them as well. So if I were you, I would pay real close attention. Everyday I shall be leaving instructions for you as to what to do. If you decide to disobey or tell anyone, heh, you know what will happen. Don't get mad at me you're the one who decided to be this way."
As Kid reread the letter over and over he felt something inside of him crush. His only instinct was to run to the the bathroom and sob. "What am I going to do?" Kid thought. "Should I tell Soul about this? What if he got one too?" Kid's mind kept running with bad thoughts and he had no clue what to do he felt so trapped. Especially since he had no one else to go to.
Days had passed and Soul started noticing strange things about Kid. He could tell there was something wrong but he could tell Kid did not want to talk about it. "So...sooo hey uh....you wanna go get pizza later?" Soul asked Kid making sure no one was in hearing range of course. Staring at the floor not even glancing at his lover the poor shinigami boy just had simply shook his head.
Soul could feel himself get angry, he gripped onto the pale one's wrist and dragged him into the janitor's closet. "Hey what's up? What's going on with you?" Soul demanded more than question.
"Nothing is wrong just drop it!" Kid snapped.
"No! Don't give me that bullshit Kid! I love you I think I should know when my partner is NOT okay!!!"
Kid felt tears swell up in his eyes.
"I'M BREAKING UP WITH YOU!!" Kid shouted as he ran out of the closet leaving a completely shocked and heartbroken Soul.
