I slammed the door shut once again, while I tried to calm down my phone went off again.

10:21 pm

Amber: I'm rotting over here, where the fuck are you?

Amber: The others went to meet up spot 30 minutes ago, Indi you said you'd be here in 5 20 minutes ago??

I cursed to myself as I threw my phone onto my bed and hurried into my closet to grab a bag and my favorite black jean jacket. As quick as I entered my closet I was back out, shuffling to find my stuff that I'd need and pushed it down my bag. I grabbed my phone again, taking a few quick steps to my window that's already opened.

This is not the first time sneaking out, I've been doing it since I was 14 years old when I forced my older brother to tech me how to successfully sneak out instead of ratting him out after I had caught him sneaking out himself.

So now, once again I was sneaking out from my childhood bedroom, probably one of the last times ever because I was finally moving out. I had been trying to move out for the last two years but somehow nothing had happened, and it had been much cheaper to live at home even if I despised it. At least I had saved up a decent amount of money since I started working at 15. Because of that I had the plans to take this summer off, or at least cut down on the work to a minimum of two days a week at the office. Luckily for me most of the friend group was working from home or taking the whole summer off as we have been planning for the last three years. To top it off we're all 5 of us moving in together in two days. This summer would for sure be one to remember.

This was the start of something new.

Slowly, slowly I moved my way on the metal roof to make as little noise as possible.

The sun was almost gone now, just peeking above the next-door house. The other houses around us were some of the only ones in the town and then there was only apartment buildings, it was much easier that way for the law enforcement and the military hired to keep track of people during night-time.

As I walked past Skye's room her window suddenly opened, and her bleached blonde hair was the first thing that popped out the window.

"Where are you going?" The question she always asked me when she saw me sneak out was once again spoken and I groaned and kept on moving. She knew that she annoyed me and that's why she kept on asking that.

"I'll go and tell dad!" She continued when I didn't answer her and I spun around, boring my eyes in hers, squinting at her. At the same time my phone went off, I ignored it though, it was probably Amber whining over how late I was again.

"You know damn well I am aware that you've been sneaking around the last two months with that boy of yours so shut the fuck up, will you?" I was so over it by now, the fight I had had with our dad just 20 minutes earlier that had made me late and now this.

My words shut her up and she mumbled something I didn't quite catch and pulled her head back inside.

Before she closed the window though, she gave me one last look. "I will miss catching you sneak out Di, maybe I should move into the apartment next door so I can keep on annoying you?" "Don't you fucking dare" I spat back before she laughed at me and closed the window shut.

I started to make my way down the roads into the city, keeping me safe in the growing shadows of the houses around me. It was not far to the meet up spot me and Amber and the others, but I felt bad that I've had her waiting for this long, putting her in eventual risk at being caught, getting a fine or even put in overnight jail.
