Kol and Valeria laid on her bed contemplating the moment together. Valeria laid on Kol's bare chest while he brushed circles on the back of her shoulder. It was their usual routine until Valeria would go to sleep and then Kol did as well. But there was too much on her mind keeping her from falling asleep.

"What's on your mind?" Kol asked making Valeria look up to him while he kept brushing on her skin.

"What do you mean?" She returned the question.

"Usually you fall asleep quickly but you haven't so tell me what's on your mind" Kol said Valeria laid back down on his chest while she used her hand to trace down his chest. "Is it about your mom?"

"Everything but that I don't want to think about that" Valeria sighed. "Damon wants to take the cure and I don't want to make a big deal about it because he just wants to build a life with Elena and I get that but I have to think about him eventually dying. I don't even think he'll even make it as a human it's just been way too long"

"There's nothing we can do about that one love"

"I know I hate the idea of it. I know there's still many years until that happens but he's my brother and we're just now getting along with all three of us..."

"When the time comes..." Kol turned to his side moving Valeria onto the bed instead of him then placed his hand on her bare lower back and pushed her in closer so that their bodies were touching and they were facing each other. "I'll be right here with you. Even if you turn it off and you go on a murder spree I'll be there"

"Kol, promise me one thing..." Valeria placed her hand on the side of his face and looked into his eyes. Kol just hummed in response. "If I'm ever close to turning it off, stop me. Do everything in your power to stop it"

Kol looked at the girl with admiration like he always did. He set his large hand on the side of her face while his thumb played with her bottom lip.

"Why are you against turning it off? Is it really that awful? With us old vampires the switch is not really there, we just grow to deal with whatever comes our way" Kol questioned knowing that what she was saying was coming from experience.

"I just don't want to hurt anyone and I've seen Stefan go on rampages saying mean things and I don't want to do that. What if I say something to hurt you..."

"You could never hurt me because I know you love me and I love you. If you want to take your anger out on me then do it" he said brushing the girls hair away from her face.

"That's not fair, I need to learn to control my emotions. I hate not having control of my humanity. It's already bad. I couldn't imagine how bad I'll be without it. It scares me that's why I don't want Damon to take the cure because I don't think I can take that"
