"I told Toca I left my watch here," Vance informed. "So we can get inside knowing we have permission."
"Stellar," Perfida respond. "But how do we get in?"
"Don't worry about it, he sent me an OTQR Code (One Time Quick Response) key."
"You really know your stuff, have you done this before?"
"Nope, just someone who reads a lot of mystery books," he answered as he opened the looked door by accessing the QR key in his phone.
"Can I borrow them some of them?"
"Sure, I'm done reading most of them anyway. Now come on, let's go inside, we only have an hour or else the place will automatically lock itself."
The soulpadres entered the VR park and light were on since it was automatic as well, it was like a ghost town now that it would be closed down since the fire "so what are we looking for exactly?" Leyo asked.
"Answers, I mean it's like it didn't want to be in business."
"We should to go to the basement then," Perfida suggested.
"Good idea," Vance answered.
Once they got there, they began searching for anything that could shed some light in their investigation "this is the computer that was turning on its own," Perfida said. "Hmmm... hello, we're here to help."
"Did Hawkes teach you that?"
"Uhm... no, but it's worth the shot, do you know what to do?"
"Nope."
"Purdy, you try calling it."
"Uhm... okay," Perdita approached the monitor. "Hello, it's me again." Lo and behold, the screen lit up but it was just blank.
"Should we asked questions now?" March assumed.
"What do you want?" Perfida asked and nothing. "Sir? Please? Purdy you talk to it."
"What do you want?" Perdita asked the computer, the screen started to change to snow like an old television.
"I think it just work on Perdita," Perfida remarked feeling stunned by it.
"Yup," Vance nodded then there was noise that was so irrititable to ears that they had to cover it with their hands.
"I think we angered it," Leyo said loudly.
"No, it's not," Perdita said, she was the only one that didn't get bothered by the sound.
"Ugh... my head," March groaned. "Make it stop". Just like that, it stopped but the lights were off unexpectedly and it was pitch black "oh! frack, the power is out!"
"At least the noise is gone," Perfida grumbled as she rubbed her ears with her finger. "I think I can still hear it in my head."
The monitor was turned on again, it snow until it slowly showed something else "look," Perdita told them.
"What does it want now?" March was confused as to what was going on.
"It's asking you to watch."
"Perdita said it wants us to watch."
"Watch what?"
They glanced at the screen, there was a video clip, the location was a landscape, a very familiar landscape "oh my goodness, that looks like the place in my dream," Perfida gasped. "It's a simulation."
"Wow, freaky."
"Let's keep watching," Vance said.
"This is amazing," they heard a man's voice but his face was not shown because it was taken from his outlook. Literally. "I really am inside the game."
