Ch 1: where am I?

King Mace POV:

Mace wakes up in a cold sweat, having dreamt about the death of his brother again. He sits up, begining to look around, quickly panicking as he realizes he's not in his room.

He quickly got out of a bed that wasn't his and raced out of a bedroom door that he'd never seen before. He needed to get out.
Mace turned the corner and bumped into someone, he backed up quickly and apologized, looking behind the stranger for a way out, they looked at him concerned
How dare they lay their eyes upon me

"Achlys dear are you alright?" The stranger comes closer and reaches for mace's cheek,
"Who are you?" Mace flinches back, eyebrows knitted together and hands to his chest. The stranger seemed confused,
"You don't recognize me? I'm chaos,,, your husband?" They said hesitantly.

Husband? I don't have a husband?
"I'm sorry you must be mistaken, I don't have a husband, an- and I don't live here. where is here anyways?"
Mace backed away again looking around the hallway, seeing doors he came from still open.

"What do you mean? Of course you live here. Are you okay do I need to call someone?" Chaos began to look even more concerned than before.
Mace shrugged off his question,
"Where am I" Mace persisted
"Where is my son? I swear to God if you did anything to him-"
"Your children are fine, I am your husband Achlys Anarchy. Calm down" chaos interrupted, coming closer to Mace.
Get away from me

"I don't have a fucking husband and I have one fucking son where is Kaede and what the fuck did you do to me"
Mace started to get frustrated with this stranger, their confusion growing by the second, before finally realization seemed to hit them.
"Oh my god, you're not Achlys are you?" Chaos backed away before running out of the house, presumably where he came from
"Where are you going!?" Mace yelled and ran after him.

Outside of the door he saw chaos running towards two other people he had never seen before, chaos ran up to them and started to talk to them in a seemingly panicked tone, he finally caught up to them and the two newer strangers looked at him for a moment before one of them spoke up.
"What is your name?" Mace noted that this person had some features of an axolotl.
Unclean

"My name is Mace, where am I?" He asked that dreadful question again in an almost fake kindly tone.
"You are in slime kingdom, I am Mellohi, this is Amon and I assume you've met Chaos." Chaos cringed a bit at their words, mace thought about his response for a moment.
Make them believe you're trustworthy

"Chaos, you called me achlys right? Do they look that much like me?" Mace looked between chaos and the two others, chaos nodded hesitantly.
"The only really noticeable difference between you two are your eyes and horns." They replied.

Mace thought for another moment
"Do you happen to have temple or something similar nearby?" He was testing his luck in this foreign place, chaos nodded confused,
"We have a city that has one very close by, i can take you there if you'd like?"
Mace nodded and they said goodbye to Mellohi and Amon before walking somewhere else.

Achlys POV:
Achlys woke up to the sound of yelling. He sat up in confusion, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. Wait, where am I? This isn't my house, is this... A castle??? Did chaos build a castle while I was sleeping and carry me here????
Foolish child
He then noticed the yelling getting closer, seemingly from the stairs across the room, he quickly got out of the bed after realizing he didn't recognize the voices, taking a sword off of the wall closest to him.
Protect yourself

The voices get louder until he sees two people, probably younger than him, ascend the steps into the room. They notice him almost immediately and the closest one draws his sword, glaring at Achlys.
"Who the fuck are you and where is my father?" Achlys drops his sword in a panic.

"Uh- if it makes you feel better I don't know who your father is or where I am" he replies sheepishly
"You look like him... Who are you?" The stranger replies, slowly lowering his sword, the second person moves beside the first to look at Achlys
"Um, I'm Achlys, king of slime city, who are you?" He looks between the two strangers
"I'm Kaede, the prince of this place, and this is Gray, our potion maker. what is a king doing in another's bed" he questions, furrowing his brows.

"If I'm being honest I don't know how I got here, or rather I don't know where here is" he began to look around, noticing several banners and item frames on the wall.
"You are in χάος, my father's kingdom, you have no recollection of how you got here?" Kaede walks more towards him, Achlys shrugs and turns back towards him
"Nope" he pops the P.

The second person, gray, turns towards Kaede and whispers something in his ear before going back down the steps, Kaede nods and turns towards Achlys again
"Would you like me to show you a place to stay? I have to check up on things today in that direction anyways." Achlys shrugs then nods.
"Might as well"
They descend the stairs and begin walking towards an uncomfortably tall building.
