"You're not pregnant," the nurse said.
"I'm not pregnant?" I repeated, smiling from ear to ear.
"Nope. You might've caught a little bug from your boyfriend, but there's no baby in there," she said, pointing to your stomach.
"Oh what a relief!" I exhaled a breath I didn't realize I was holding.
"Would you like us to bring your boyfriend in?" she asked.
"Yes please," I nodded, taking out my phone to call my parents.
"Hey beautiful," Neji said, hugging me. "What's the verdict?"
"We aren't gonna be parents just yet," I exclaimed, dialing my mother's number.
"Oh," he said, slightly frowning.
"Huh? What's that reaction?" I asked, taken aback by his change in attitude.
"No it's nothing," he shrugged. "I'll be outside whenever you get done."
"O-okay," I said.
"Hello?"
"Hey, mom. You were wrong. There's no baby. I don't have the glow."
"Did you abort it?"
"Mom! I was never pregnant."
"Whatever. Honey!!! She's not pregnant."
"Thank goodness," I heard my dad say in the background.
"I think Neji's mad."
"Why? What happened?"
"I have no idea. I told him I wasn't pregnant and he just walked away."
"Maybe he started getting excited at the thought of being a father."
"Yeah...maybe."
"Just talk about it."
"Okay. I will. Love you."
"Love you too sweetie. Bye. And tell Neji we love him too."
"Yes, mom. Bye."
I hung up the phone, changing out of the hospital gown and putting my clothes back on. When I walked out of the room, I saw Neji sitting in the waiting room on his phone.
