THE MORNING after Tatum and Melanie's talk was the day of the Stu's party, and the brunette couldn't be less excited. Parties weren't her thing, and with her being fatality injured, paranoid and at the top of the killers shit list, Melanie just wasn't in the mood to party. But it wasn't like she even had a chance to object when Sidney and Tatum had come over to convince her.
The girls were saddened when she first said no and Sidney even begged, saying that "You'll be completely safe, the house will be packed to the brim, no one will hurt you" And as much as she wanted to believe that, she couldn't make herself. Eventually, Tatum's puppy eyes convinced her fully, and when the blonde hugged her and gripped her hand like a lifeline, Sidney didn't say a word.
And that's why Melanie was where she was now, sitting in the middle of Tatum and Sidney while waiting to pull up to the police station. Tatum and Dewey were having a heated argument while Sidney was gazing the window. Melanie meanwhile was trying to drown out the noice and decided to tap Sidney on the shoulder to talk "Where exactly is the party getting held? I wanna know who's house I'm gonna be camping out at" "Oh! It's Stu's. Conveniently his parent's are away on a business trip"
Melanie nods at that response and leans back in her seat with a contemplative look on her face. Sid seems to understand that face and bumped her shoulder, trying to get her out of that gloom "Don't worry, I get how you feel. I'm worried about going myself. Still shocked Tatum somehow convinced me" Mel's mood seemed to brighten just a bit and to lighten it further, Sidney says "And besides, we get to say 'I told you do right?"
A smile finally cracks on the girl's face and Sidney knows her job is done. The car eventually pulls up to the police station and every one slowly gets out, Tatum opening Melanie's door and helping her step out. They walked (in Mel's case limp) across the sidewalk and Dewey comments on the quietness "It's pretty quiet today"
"Look at this place. It's the town that dreaded sundown" She quipped "Oh yeah I saw that movie. Some killer in Texas right?" "More like multiple killers. He was just doing the dirty work" Melanie speaks up and Tatum smirks, arm still around Melanie's waist as an assistant "Slow your role Randy 2.0" Mel glares at her with a small flush on her face and Tatum sends a another smug look before turning to Sidney "Hey, if they made a movie about you, ever thought who'd play you?"
Sidney groans before answering "I shudder to think" Dewey looks her up and down before sending a brotherly smile "I see you as a young Meg Ryan myself" Melanie snickers before shaking her head "Nah, someone with Neve in their name. I don't know, it just fits" Sidney shudders quietly "Thanks guys, but with my luck, they'll cast Tori Spelling or something"
Dewey huffs in amusement before beginning to walk to the station. Before entering, he turns to point a stern hand at all three girls "And don't wonder off too far" Melanie lifts hand to her head in a salute "Roger that Sergeant Dewey" And with that, they all part ways for a short time.
