Summary:
a story in which a girl turns eighteen and her surname perfectly describes her life

Extended Summary:
Confused, is the only emotion I could feel right now. Everything in my life was a complete and utter mess, I was just as mentally meddled as I was when I regained consciousness after being kidnapped.

I wasn't angry at my father for putting me in this comprising position or Zayn for making this hard choice easier to agree too.

In another world, a perfect one, I would have time to sort through all of my emotional baggage that pertained to both my father and Zayn.

But it wasn't a perfect world, my world was disoriented and fucked up to the max. I've known this since I was a little girl, and now was definitely not the time to start bitching and moaning about it.

Wishing that things were different isn't going to change anything- making proactive decisions like the effective leader I knew I could be would.

The entire reason I left Wilde Industries in the first place, was to find myself and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Now I was being thrown right back into that world. It took me a good seventeen years to leave and if I ever decided that this world wasn't the one I wanted to live in, then it wasn't going to be as easy to leave as it was the first time around.

I just needed to get away from everything to clear my head to find out what I wanted (or more accurately needed) to do with the rest of my life.

Maybe agreeing to work with Zayn wasn't such a bad idea; I could do what I was meant to, without my father's criticism every time I made a move that he would have done differently.

Yet I would still have his stamp of approval. A win-win situation.

Time was running out as I am almost eighteen and should have picked a career plan to go on by now.

As enticing as Zayn's offer was, I'm not sure if I could agree.

I knew both of our fathers' were counting on me to agree and join forces with none other than Zayn Malik, but I couldn't live the rest of my life doing what others wanted me to.

Tanner's suggestion of running away to some foreign unknown destination was sounding better and better as time went by.

A sigh of frustration slips pass my lips.

I don't know why I was expected to make all of these life altering decisions at the mere age of eighteen, most people were just graduating high school at this point of time.

Right now I would kill to be a regular teenage girl- not one that was contemplating on going through with the biggest underground business merger in history or running away and never looking back.

What my father was asking of me was completely unfair. I was not only deciding my fate, but the fate of thousands of people as well.

If that weren't enough he expected me to make this decision before the clock turned 12:01 am on my birthday.

Before I turned 18.

Parent Power Struggle Series:
This is book one. Book two, which is entitled Over Throned, will be released soon. It will be a re-telling of "Eighteen" but just through Zayn's point of view. With that being said there will be entirely new content, and plot points so it just might be worth the read ;-)

Camp NaNoWriMo:
This is my July/November 2015th camp novel, and as you can imagine I will be furiously writing trying to stay within my word count goal. As a direct result of this, I will not be editing any of my work until the month of July/November is over. If this bothers you, then simply don't read- I don't have time to edit and reach my word count goal.

Cover Credit:
@silver_chick , thanks so much for the cover and the one you created for Over Throned.

Warning:
I'm not sure when, but this story will contain sexually explicit scenes, so if that's not your thing, then don't bother reading.

Author's Note:
Although this novel is marked as a fan fiction, you don't have to be a Directioner or supporter of Zayn Malik former member of 1D, to read because it's set in an AU (alternate universe).
