As the dust settles, the taste of blood and the feeling of dread sets in. I look up with crimson tears streaming down, hitting the ground one drop at a time. HE stands there looking down at me, HE looks at me with disappointment in his eyes, lifting my chin up and opens his mouth..
As I'm about to open the door, the smell of blood drifts through the air again, but it doesn't smell right. I can't tell what's wrong exactly but it's not like blood I have smelled before, I turn around to the room to the left of mandolin's room. As I walk over to the door I hear a thud from inside, I open the door as quietly as I can to not alert anyone. As I enter the room there's a dresser near the door which has a knife on it, which I grabbed. I walk through out the room and I come around the corner and see a broken window with blood on it. "So that's where the smell of blood came from.." I say. I walk over to the window and look through it to and my eyes widen, as I see mandolin laying on the ground a little aways from the house. I jump out the window and land safely, as I start to run towards Mandolin I look around, there's some hills to my left with some trees and to my right is just flat land. As I'm running across the field I fail to notice a figure, standing there between the trees. As I reach mandolin I feel a gust of wind then suddenly I get sliced on my back, shocked by what just happened I fall to the ground and turn around. As I look up I see a man, standing right above me. I can't fully see his face since the sun is just overhead, but I can tell he's looking at me, he grabs his sword and puts it to my neck. "Do you know this guy?" Ask the man. As I look up with anxiety and worry in my eyes I say, "I do know him, his name's Mandolin, My teacher. He chuckles and says, "Really? So why should I not kill you just like I did with him?" I grit my teeth and look down, trying to think of a way to get out of here and maybe even see if Mandolin is Alice. My eyes pop over in Mandolin's direction as I see his sword on him. I haven't done a lot of sword training with him, but he is a master with his blade. As I'm about to speak a gust of wind blows by, I touch the ground and grab a hand full of dirt, throwing it at the man. It practically did nothing but it gave me that split second I needed to grab the sword! As I stand up taking the cover off the sword, he man looks and me and changes his stance. I can tell he's an expert at using his blade and it worries me.. as the wind Continues to blow past us I get the courage to charge at him and pull the blade back. He dodges to the left and slices my right arm, I jump back hoping to make a bit of distance but as I look up he's right in my face. " You don't seem to be that good with a sword, or at fighting." The man says this as he stabs me through my abdomen. I cough up blood and drop to the ground, looking up while coughing up bits of blood.
"Maybe.. I won't let you die for nothing. This is a worthy experiment, to see how someone that's dying will react to Trauma." My eyes widen when he makes flames from his hand. Just like that day with Mandolin.. he looks at me with curiosity and fires the flame at me. Closing my eyes in fear..
*Swords and most types of close range combat weaponry are used in our country, since we've specialized with techniques that allow us to harness our physical power to it's limit. People that have SOULS are able to use swords or Void blades (Special blades that affects people with SOULS) to their upper limits, even causing some swords to break.
