You were the sun
That melted my sorrows and pain
You were the sun
who fueled flares that flow through my veins
Your shine never fails my everyday
And your light protects me in every way
But, you were the same sun
who let thorns grow in my heart
You were the same sun
who slowly tore me apart
Your rays struck me with grief
Your flames burned my comfort and relief
You are my sun
But I am not your Earth
