I gasped to catch air and rolled over. Bri landed ump on the wet muddy area. I laid exhausted for another 3 minutes before pulling Dan from the camouflage dirt burial. He rushed to Bri's side holding her hands in his tiny ones. He carefully brushed the mud off her and examined her bruises and broken physique. Watching his actions I whispered softly, " we'll make it, I promise.

*5 years later*

Standing at the entrance of the ball waiting impatiently for the two most annoying persons in my life. Where the hell were they. Oh god please don't let them get in trouble, I sent a silent prayer to heaven, they are walking bombs. Getting flustered I dialled the number on my screen once more, I was connected straight to voicemail. Not tonight guys please, my emotions started to get the best and imagining worst case scenarios. Hearing gasps I looked up to see the culprits approving me with sorry faces. " Damn you are gonna be late for your own funerals", I rushed out and gritted my teeth. "Bre did it big sis!" Dan hurriedly stated. Bre shot Dan killer eyes and apologized. I turned around and headed for our table, closely behind me I could hear threats and mumbling. I smiled to myself knowing they will try to make it up to me later on. The event started about an hour ago but I couldn't sit at my table alone I need them in my sight.
Everyone knows that we are a trio, some persons even call me mother hen. The sacrifices I have made is for them, mostly to see them safe and happy.

Only one seat on my right was available and I knew what was gonna happen, but before I turned to my left they began debating who should sit beside me and which one should take the available seat on the next side of the table. I knew Dan is mischievous so I need him beside me and Bre is so light headed I need to monitor her drinks. I felt tired all of a sudden and render them silent as I looked sternly at them. They bowed there head in unison and I turned to my left.
"Aiden..., yes I will, I know you guys too much", he finished my sentence and moved to the next side of the table. Bre and Dan sat quietly on each side of me. A sigh left my lips, I'm so exhausted, maybe I need to give them more space to grow up but I'm too scared that something will happen. My fear won't let me ease up.

The event tonight is my graduation ball, I have completed my studies and been awarded as a top scholar, but I still felt as if this is not what I want. I still feel indecisive. This isn't how I see myself but this is something I must do for survival. Looking from my left to right my siblings look happy and healthy and in them lays also my happiness. They are my motivation, my ego, mine and until the last breathe leaves my body I will protect them with all I've got.

" Penny to your thoughts Afy," Aiden said as he looked at me worriedly. I put a smile on my face and quickly strike up a conversation. "So we finally graduated huh, never really thought it would be this grand of an event.
