Part 4 : The Deep Forests

Mission Debrief : 

05-4"Overwatch" : Welcome to your operation, The Deep Forests. 

In this mission, you need to contain anomaly designated as Secure Containment Protocol 939.

Intelligence Agency relayed SCP-939's last location.

It is in the depth of Amazon jungle. 

Stay alert, 939 is able to impersonate many voices, from all living species, including human. 

We got multiple casualties from IA and MTF personnel.

"THE DEEP FORESTS"

August 13th 2025

E-11"Nine-Tailed Fox"

We boarded the helicopter, traveling toward the depths of Amazon. 

We arrived at 1 : 00 PM.

Our goal is to complete the mission before dawn rises. 

We roped down the helicopter.

In Amazon, we didn't face only a single threat from 939 instances, but also from heavily dangerous wild species. 

"Ok everyone, set up your thermal to pick up 939's thermal" Captain Josh said. 

After 3 minutes traveling the forest, we caught a sound

(?) : Hello? Anyone there?

(?) : I need help in here

(?) : Zulu-5 to Foxtrot, Zulu to Foxtrot, we need a help here!

"Zulu is already a dead force right? They are deployed here and all of them are missing" I said.

I realized those were 939's imitated voice. 

"Follow the voice, it will lead us to the SCP" Captain Josh said. 

I caught something running in the woods.

It's something red, it was

939!!!

I screamed. 

939 drew their attention to us and began attacking from all sides.

We formed a defensive circle, to protect us from 939 instances.

"REMEMBER! DONT FIRE UNLESS YOU NEED TO!" Captain Josh said. 

Note : This determines the object class of 939. It could be Neutralized(Kill), or Keter(Contained).

I changed my P90 shooting mode to stunner. 

I shot multiple 939 instances.

They came in larger and larger pack. 

One of them leaped on my back, but fortunately Captain Josh Barrack made to neutralize it

"You're ok?" Captain Josh said while giving his hand to me. 

I grabbed his hand and stood up. 

"Yeah I am" 

After capturing multiple alive 939 instances, we delivered them to the helicopter.

"Extraction will be on the way, at now, we'll prioritize 939's containment" Captain Josh said.

3 hours later

We were resting in the forest, waiting for backup, but no one came

"They are still far away" Captain Josh said. 

We lit a campfire, waiting for extraction.

Suddenly we heard human voices

"Crap, is there still any SCP-939 instances?" I said 

All E-11 personnels grabbed their weapons

"Impossible, we've neutralized all reported 939 instances"

Then a pack of lights were seen in the middle of the dark forests. 

"They must be our extraction" I said

"Don't be damn stupid, you knew that they will extract us using helicopter" Captain Josh said

"Hold on, I will check them" I said. 

Multiple gunshots were heard after I came close

I ran behind trees, while avoiding the storming bullets.

I dropped onto the ground, hoping that they won't notice us.

I pointed my P90 to the light

I silently crawled to the hostile forces, trying to make as little as sound as possible.

I saw armed people, and of course, dead MTFs. 

One of them was using a beret, and in his beret, the same logo with the ones we encounter in the compound.

"Impossible, they are the CHAOS INSURGENCY!"

The one with a beret choked Captain Josh. 

"I'm back for revenge, Lance Corporal Josh Barrack," The man said.

"Who are you? How'd you know my name?" Josh said

"I knew you guys are initiating an operation in this deep forests. And you will remember who I am" 

The "beret guy" dropped Josh forcefully, knocking him out. 

I attempted to assault the "beret guy" with a rifle knock

But he noticed me and pointed his pistol to me

"Not that easy, bitch"

I turned my head back and saw a Chaos Insurgency operative, holding an AK-47

What I see the last time, he knocked me out. 

And what I hear the last time

"Secure Josh and the unconscious operative. We are returning to base"
