chapter 4: charming

[Katie's POV]

Later that night I was finishing some homework while Mary Margaret was on a date with Dr Whale.

I finished and went to change into my pyjamas and when i open my closet i noticed something inside

A black opal necklace was hanging from one of my shirts

"What the," i whispered as i take the necklace from the shirt.

It looks so familiar

I hear the door open. I walk out of the room with the necklace in my hand. I walked into the living room and see Mary Margaret with a glum look.

"Let me guess, he was staring at ruby's ass the whole date," I say with a smirk

" How did you guess," she replied sarcastically

"That guy is a creep. I told you not accept the date. Next thing you know a date will lead to a one night stand," I warned her

She rolls her eyes

"Thats a bit dramatic don't you think,"she said as she walked in the kitchen

"$20 if it happens," I suggest

"Sure, don't get your hopes up," she said while making some hot coco

"Hey is this yours," i ask holding up the necklace

"No. I'm not the jewelry type.Where did you find it?" she said handing a hot coco

"In my closet. I kinda like it," i reply looking at it

"Keep it then," she shrugged, " I'm going to go to bed. Remember your doctor's appointment tomorrow. Good night." She reminded me

"Night," i reply

I get changed into my pyjamas and go to sleep.

11 year old Katrina was in her and snow's hide out carving random shapes on the wall with a rock. Her small wings ruffled uncomfortably in the leather bonds that held them. Katrina had spent a year with the vigilante snow white yet she still hasn't told her about her fearing snow would be disgusted by them just like her past guardian was

She hears russling leaves and gets up forcing her wings to still and pokes her head out the thin vines covering the den and spots snow approaching the den

"Snow! Your back!" Kate said excitedly hugging Snow

"Somebody missed me," Snow chuckles as she hugged her back

"Of course i did. I was sooooo bored. Can we go exploring now," Kate ask looking up at her

"Yes we can just let me get some things," she said pulling away from the embrace

After snow packed up her things the two walked out of the hideout

They only took afew steps before the were caught in a trap. Suddenly they were hoisted up in the air by a thick net that was disguised under a layer of leaves on and dirt

Snow wrapped her arms protectively around Katrina and struggled in the net

They heard laughter

"I told you I'd find you," a man walks towards them and Kate hugs snow tightly as he continued," no matter what you do i will always find you."

Hearing those words made Kate whimper in fear. Snow glanced at her with concern before looking at down at the man

"Is this the only way you can catch a woman? By entrapping her!" Snow growled

"It's the only way to catch thieving scum," the man countered

"Aren't you a real prince charming," Snow said sarcastically

"I have a name you know," Charming said in amu6

"Don't care. Charming suits you," snow replyed

Kate started to feel panicked being trapped in such a small space. Snow notices and says

"Now cut me down down, charming," she said glancing at Kate

"I'll release you when you return the leather pouch you stole with my jewels," charming said smugly

"Not the jewelry type," snow said simply

" indeed I noticed," he smirked

"Are you insulting me,"Snow asks

" my apologies how dare i insult the person who robbed me," charming said

Katrina started hyperventilating and snow panicked.

"Just cut me down already!," she shouted

"Where are my jewels!" he yells back

"I sold them. Why do you need them anyway dont you have a palace full of them," snow said, getting impatient

"They were special. Among them was a ring from my mother-," Snow cuts him off

"If I get your precious jewels back will you cut me down!" She yells

"Yes, yes i will," charming said confused

"Then I'll do that get us down now," she said

Charming cuts them down and the land roughly on the ground

"Kate. Kate honey it's ok your safe," snow said to Katrina pulling her into a hug

Katrina calms down after a while and charming speaks up

"You have a child?" He questioned snow

Kate hides from charming behind
Snow

"She's not mine." Snow said

"I apologise it was not my intention to harm the girl," he says as he looks at Kate

"Just as it is not my intention to help you," snow says

"Listen, among those jewels there was a ring that belonged to my mother, a ring i was about to give to-," he tried to explain

"The nag with the bad attitude? That's what this is about?" Snow asked

"She's my fiance," charming replied

"Good luck with that," snow smirks," you must be getting something impressive to have agreed to that Union."

"excuse me," he asked slightly offended

" I know how this works. True love? It doesn't exist," snow said," it's all arranged marriage in business transactions. There's no such thing as love at first sight of first kiss. Let me guess. Her kingdom wants to take over yours. And this is what, a last-ditch effort to avoid war?" She said smugly

"This is not a takeover," he objected," it's a merger and quite frankly it's none of your business. Now here's what's going to happen, you're going to take me to whoever has my jewels, and you're going to get my ring back," he said

"Why would I do that?"snow asked

"Because you don't want anyone to know who you are Snow White," he took out a wanted poster

"Uh oh," Kate whispers

"Get my ring back or i turn you over to the queens forces," he put away the poster," and I have a feeling the Queen isn't as 'charming' as I am,"

"Well wouldn't want to stand and in your way of getting true love. Follow me,"snow said as she took Katrina's hand in hers and walked off.
