Chapter 5: Coma guy

After my appointment I walk disappointed. They still don't know why my back aches constantly or why I'm off balance all the time. I just sighed heading into the part of the hospital where the kids are putting up decorations. I see Henry and Mary Margaret talking over a coma patient.

I walk over to them

"Are you guys going to stare at coma patients all day or are you going to actually do what you came here to do," i say sarcastically

"Are you sure you don't know him? Kate, what about you?" He asks me

"Nope I've never seen that guy before now," i shrugged

"And of course im sure. C'mon, you shouldn't be in here," Mary Margaret said as she gestured for us to get out of the room.

Henry pulls me aside

"We need an emergency Operation Cobra meeting now,"he insisted

"Maybe after we finish putting up decorations for the sick people it'd be kinda rude to leave now," i reply raising an eyebrow

"Okay but straight after," he replied, running off to help his classmates

After we leave the hospital we call Emma and meet at the 'castle'

"I found your father," Henry flips to a page with an illustration of a man," prince charming."

"Henry-," Emma started

"He's in the hospital, in a coma. See the scar, he has one too," Henry continued

"So? Lots of people have scars," Emma replied

"In the same place," Henry insisted

"The picture does look alot like him," i say

Henry nodded

"Don't you see what this means?" Henry asks Emma

She just looks at him with an exasperated face

"The curse is keeping them apart with the coma. Now they're stuck without each other. We have to tell miss blanchard that we found her prince charming," Henry explained

"Okay kid telling someone they're soul mate in a coma is probably not helpful. Not having a happy ending is painful enough but giving someone unrealistic hope is far worse," Emma said

"But what if im right. Kate what do you think?" Henry asks turning to me

"I'll keep a open mind about this," i reply

Better than creepy whale

"Well, we know who they are now they have to know who they are," Henry says

"And how do you intend to make that happen,"Emma asks him

"By reminding him. We have to get her to read the story to John Doe. Then maybe by maybe he'll remember who he is," Henry says

Emma looked at me and i shrugged

"It won't do any harm," I say

"Ok," Emma surprising said.

"Ok?" Me and Henry say simultaneously.

"Yeah we'll do it but we'll do it my way. let me ask her," Emma says

Henry smiles at her

I just sit there awkwardly while have a moment

I think..

Their just staring at each other

What's with this town and staring?

I break the awkward silence
