Chapter 3 : Happy Birthday Bossman

I wake up to a text from Tubbo
Tubbo- HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOSSMAN! 🎉
I look at my clock [ 8:32 am]
It's morning already! Which means I'm 16.

The scent of pancakes and bacon fills the room.
My mom always makes a special breakfast on my birthday. I step out of bed, still wearing the clothes from yesterday. A few steps forward I almost trip on a box sitting on the floor. It's a black box with a purple letter sitting on top. My moms usually give me my birthday gift themselves and watch me open it so they can take pictures to put in their picture book.

I remember on my 10th birthday they got me a pair of roller skates and wanted to take a picture of me wearing them. I put them on but as soon as I stood up the wheels slid out and I fell. My mom got a picture of me mid-fall, it's still one of her favorite pictures of me to this day.

I bent down and picked up the letter. "open the box first" was written on the back. I carried the box over to my bed and set it down. I take off the lid and remove the tissue paper sitting on top. Inside was a crown, the crown was completely black, crystals in all. It almost looked as if someone had sprayed it with black mat paint. I pick up the envelope and crack the wax seal, sliding the letter out.

Dear Ranboo
Happy sixteen birthday!
Which means you are now in power!
There is so much you need to learn!
You are in power, But you don't know how to use these powers. That's my job to teach you! As you know Inside the box is a crown
Pick up the crown and hold it in your hands
The crown will change itself to fit you.
Meet me in the same place as yesterday at midnight. I need to explain some more things before we get into the lessons, also so you can ask your questions.

So it wasn't a dream after all
I take the crown from the box and hold it in my hands as it is said to do in the letter. The crown started to change, The black started to almost melt off the crown. Underneath, shiny gold pears through, the crystals interchanging a bright red and green.

When I was 5 or 6 I used to make paper crowns with construction paper and markers and stick the back together with a sticker. If I was making one for myself I would always color it the same way, and the crown changed to exactly that.

I picked up the letter and read through it again.
why would he recommend looking in the mirror?

I walked over to the floor-length mirror in the corner of my room and stepped in front of it.
I don't know what I was expecting
But I definitely wasn't expecting this
I had horns... AND A TAIL
"AAAAAAAAH HOLY SHI-" I screamed and stumbled back falling over my newly discovered tail.

I have always wanted horns and a tail and was sad I didn't Inherit them from my mother but these were different. My mother has longer back-facing curved horns and her tail is thin with a tuff of fur at the end. These were your classic demon features, the small horns curved inwards and the triangle-tipped tail. One horn was white and the other was black, the tail was cut down the middle both matching my hair.

"Ranboo! Are you awake?" I hear my mom call from the kitchen "yeah!" I yelled back  "come get some breakfast! I made your favorite!" She said, "I'll be down in a minute!". I need to hide them, and quick. I didn't know how they would react seeing me walk into the kitchen and have horns all of a sudden.

I grabbed a beanie out of my closet and put it on but the horns were too sharp and they poked right through.  Ok plan two, I grabbed a hoodie from my closet and pulled up the hood. Good enough, the tail was thin and was easy to hide by wrapping it around my waist. Right before I was about to walk out of my room I realized I couldn't just leave the crown sitting there. I put the lid back on the box and put it on the floor in my closet.
