Driving through the familiar road of his neighbourhood, Saim sighed leaning back on his seat. He hadn't thought the night to end up as such. It was hardly half past nine and they were returning home, from what it was called a date for their mother. When his mother had come up with the idea, somewhere deep within he was happy yet he was in denial because he didn't want to force Yusra into things that could make her uncomfortable.
But he was glad when she had agreed to this dinner. The entire day he had been thinking of it and now as they were making their way back home, he felt a little agitated at how things had turned out. He gazed at Yusra, who had her eyes closed up against the window and just like that a thought crossed his mind.
Glancing at her, he sped up taking a turn to make it to the one place he could think of. Just as he was about to reach to his destination, he heard her questioning him. Without giving any response, he drove the car, asking her to be careful as the ride was going to be bumpy.
Yusra took in the surrounding, perplexed a little. She had closed her eyes when they were almost about to be home and was left surprised when she had opened them to find themselves still moving, through a route she was unfamiliar with.
The car came to a halt, both of them glancing at each other; Saim with a huge grin while Yusra having a questionable look. The two got down, both walking towards the bonnet of the car, before Saim caught hold of her hand, twice that night. Yusra glanced down at his hold, hearing her speedy heartbeats. She looked around the place, the dense thick forest covering the area with some street lights on.
They walked inside the path, Saim clutching onto her hand tightly, noticing her lose grip. He smiled thinking about how cold her hands felt against his warm ones, the unknown feeling resurfacing him.
As he walked her to his secret hideout, he couldn't believe that he was doing it. He was revealing his most precious place to her. He stopped, moving a little away to let Yusra have a look at the view in front and the look on her face, made it all worth it.
Yusra stared at the view in front of her, unable to utter a word. She felt mesmerized looking at the small lake that situated right in front of her in the middle of nowhere and the moon shining right in front of it made the scene more beautiful. What added to the beauty was the busy city lights that she could see through the place, adding a charm to the place.
"Masha Allah," She uttered after an eerie silence and even though Saim knew she was talking about the beauty in front of them, he couldn't help but reply the same looking at her.
For the first time from the time of their marriage, he was studying her face. He might see her everyday at home, but today he could see a different kind of light on her face. He didn't knew whether it was just the place or she always looked that beautiful, but he couldn't help but stare at her throughout while she admired the beauty ahead.
"This is so beautiful," She said almost moving to take a side walk, but stopped when she noticed his grip still on her. Flushing, she moved her hand a little making him come out of his trance that made him pull his hand away from her, making her miss the warmth it provided.
Saim stood there gazing at her, admiring the lake, before walking towards the edge, her head towards the sky. He noticed her enjoying the scenery along with the involuntary shiver due to the cold winds. Shaking his head with a small chuckle, he walked towards her, all the while pulling his jacket before placing it onto her shoulder making her turn to him.
The two stared at each other, the moonlight falling on their faces making their face brighten. Saim looked in her eyes, her brown eyes shining brighter in the light, searching for something in her eyes. Yusra could hear her heartbeat, as she glanced in his deep charcoal eyes filled with emotions foreign to her. Nervously she turned her head away, pulling the jacket closer to her, while Saim coughed taking a step back.
