The best summer of all

Chapter 1

This summer has been the best I've ever had, it hasn't been always that easy but it was full of great memories and experiences and I'll tell you why.

But first you get to know a few friends of mine:

Olivia: she's my best friend and the most fashionable person I know :) 

Grace: my other bestie she's very artistic :) 

Alice: the most popular girl of our school and cheerleader 

Jason: Alice's boyfriend and surfer boy 

Dan: smartest boy of our class and also a member of our friend group

Luke: the typical sarcastic friend that everyone likes :) 

Chapter 1:

A tiny bit of sunshine woke me up and made me smile. I really love the sun especially the sunrise. After a few minutes of staring into the air my alarm rung, even though I don't need it anymore...

At first I had breakfast alone, because both of my parents already went to work. As I was eating my phone rang. I took the call, it was Olivia.

"Hey bestieeee, do you have any plans for today?", she asked me with excitement in her voice. I told her to wait for a minute, but of course I knew that there was nothing to do today so we agreed to meet at our fireplace near the large lake in our town. 

I immediately asked her, if I should ask our whole friend group to come, because it would be way more fun like that. " I would love that", she answered. 

Our lake was really big and beautiful especially in summer, my friends and I love to watch the sunset and sing together by the fireplace. There's even a little beach and you're able to surf. So I was really looking forward to tonight. 

I was so excited, I spent the whole day there with Olivia, we went swimming, read our books and waited for our skin to get darker. It was a really great day and I couldn't wait for it to get better.

Later that day we went to get drinks for the evening because the sun was slowly disappearing.... Olivia wanted to get every drink in the store, sometimes she really acts like a toddler but whatever. In the end we just bought a few lemonades and some chips. 

As we walked towards the lake, we already saw our friends. A big smile showed up on my face as I noticed them. 

Grace sitting with her sketchbook on a bench and sketching the people around her, Alice laughing and smiling at her boyfriend Jason. His upper body was free so you could see all his muscles he had gained through surfing. 

Of course Dan was there, too and discussed something with Luke, who seemed like he didn't even understand about that because he just laughed. 

"Hey, girls you bought us drinks hopefully with alcohol", he said with a laughter. Luke has always been very sarcastic and we all know that isn't going to change. 

"Of course", I told him while I winked with my eye. So we sat down and I started to pull out drinks and snacks from my green beach tote bag. 

There was a coke for Luke, strawberry lemonade for Alice, Sprite for Olivia, orange lemonade for Jason, apple juice for Dan ( he hates all other drinks) and I bought a coke for me because I just think it's the most refreshing drink in summer. 

We talked and talked until Jason came up with the idea to play truth or dare. "What about a little game?", he asked enthusiastically. At first nobody was really interested, but then he convinced us because we haven't played it for a really long time.

Rules are clear: the youngest starts, yeah that's our only rule actually. And because I am the youngest one, I asked Luke first."Truth or dare, Luke" - "Hmmmm, I think I'll take truth", he said. But I could tell that he was nervous because he looked very unsure and played with his hair.

"Okay, who was your first girlfriend?", I asked him curiously. Everyone stared at him like this was the biggest secret in the world.

Well, actually it was, because Luke has always been very quiet and mysterious about his love life and relationships.
"Wellllll", he said hesitantly. " I have never had a girlfriend, before", he answered.

I saw that he felt so embarrassed when he said it to us. His whole face turned red and he tried to look away.
I immediately felt bad about it because I didn't want to embarrass him. "I didn't reckon with that answer, but it's not bad, you don't have to be embarrassed", I answered. The others told him, too. 

After a few rounds I asked Luke to talk to me, just us two. I grabbed him at the arm and we walked around the lake. It was already dark and we were able to see the stars above us. The moon was shining so light and crickets chirped around us.

I didn't want to keep silence so I started to talk immediately about it.  "I'm really sorry about that question before, you know, I really didn't want to embarrass you in front of everyone"- "It wasn't that bad", he answered. "Well, I was just very curious because you have always been so mysterious about your love life", I explained to him. 

"Ohhh, Jade wants to know more about my love life sounds like you're jealous", he tormented me. "W-w-wait nooo you know I didn't mean it like that", I refused angrily. 

Of course he knew that, but it's typical for him to make everything sound like it's sarcastic, but sometimes it's the best way to talk about things and some times not.
