I awoke to the sound of the doorbell, shifting my blanket over my head i rolled onto my stomach. No more than 5 minutes had passed when a knock sounded on my door, Bayleigh's head poked through the door "Soph. Wake up someone's here to see you." She whispered.
I groaned, "Tell them to come back later."
She walked into my room shutting the door behind her, "It's Tristian."
I shot straight up, "What the hell is he doing here?!"
"He wants to talk to you." She answered.
I got up from my bed, walking over to my door and locking it, "I don't want him in here Bayleigh, he's an inconsiderate asshole, who needs to be knocked down a few pegs." I ranted.
"Well I don't want to tell him to leave, he's intimidating." She whispered.
I rolled my eyes, "Fine, I will." I unlocked the door, swinging it open realizing I was still in my pj's. A tank top with the Cookie Monster and a pair of gray shorts. Eh who cares. I stomped down the stairs. It's been 3 days since I punched Tristian, he hasn't tried to contact me and when we worked the same shift I stayed far from him, hoping he would do the same and he did. Taylor, Joey and Chris would come over to check on me, well my crippled hand. The doctor whom I had seen said it was just badly bruised, and he bandaged it up. And it's been healing nicely. Anyway back to the present.
I made my way down the stairs, spotting him sitting on our couch rather comfortably, not what I liked. His head snapped to my direction as I walked to him.
"Get up." I ordered.
He raised his hands in a defensive position. "Woah, woah, is that how you greet all of your guests?" He asked.
I faked a laugh, "You are not a guest, so get off our couch."
"Alright alright, calm down." He huffed as he stood from his seated position. "Happy?" He added.
I crossed my arms, glaring at him, "No, I'm not." I walked over to the front door, opening it. "I'll be happy once you're out of here." I admitted.
He rolled his eyes, walking over to me, putting his hand on the door above me. He looked at Bayleigh, "Do you mind giving us a few minutes?"
Bayleigh looked to me as I mouthed the words 'No'.
"Yeah, of course." And she walked up the stairs. I can't believe she did that, what a traitor. I turned back to Tristian, his eyes peering at me curiously. "Stop looking at me like that." I demanded.
"Like what?" He whispered lowly.
"Never mind, now will you please just leave?" I tried prying the door open further but his hand was preventing me from doing so.
"No woman, I want to talk." He almost growled.
"You want to talk? Alright let's talk about how much I hate you and wish you'd just disappear forever, and that you think you scare me but you don't anymore, you want people to respect you, so you scare them. Only that isn't respect you idiot it's just fear-" I ranted on, but Tristian interrupted me.
"Okay okay, damn."
"Um, I'm not done yet." I stated, leaning on one leg.
"Well I get the point, you hate me."
I clapped my hands together, "Well good for you, you figured it out."
"Will you just let me talk?" Annoyance set in his tone.
I threw my hands up, "Fine. But make it fast."
"Can we sit down?" He asked, throwing his head in the direction of the couch.
"I guess." I sighed as we made our way back to the living room, Tristian sat on the couch, I took a seat on the chair.
He leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees fingers intertwined together. "Look, I know I can be an insensitive asshole-"
"Can be? Ha! You always are." I interrupted.
"Will you just shut up for one second and let me talk?" He snarled.
I laid back into the chair, crossing my arms and legs, "Fine."
"Thank you." He huffed. "Anyways, I just wanted to apologize for what I did with my friends and the whole making you and your friend..."
"Bayleigh."
"Yeah Bayleigh, for making you guys uncomfortable. And that my behavior was unacceptable. And I hope we can be friends."
I sat there in silence, thinking over his words. Did he really mean all of that or was it something Chris or Joey made him do so our work environment wouldn't be so hostile?
I peered at him, "Did you come over to apologize on your own or were you forced to do it?" I questioned.
His gaze fell to the floor, looking back to me moments later, "Honestly?"
"Yeah."
His tongue swept across his bottom lip, "Chris told me to come over here."
"So you were forced to say what you just said?" I could feel my cheeks began to heat as the anger grew inside me.
"No, no i meant every word of it. At first I didn't want to, but... " His eyes fell to the floor once more. "Honestly I like having you in my life." He admitted.
My heart fluttered at his words, I don't know why but it did. All of a sudden my throat felt dry, like I haven't had anything to drink in a week. I stood up, his eyes jolting to me, "I, I need something to drink." I walked to the kitchen, feeling him following me. I grabbed a glass from the cupboard, "Would you like something to drink?" I asked without looking at him.
"Umm, no thanks I'm fine." He answered.
I filled my glass with water gulping it down in seconds. I slammed the glass on the countertop, "What's that suppose to mean?!"
He shoved his hands into his jean pockets, "I don't know."
I scoffed, "Bullshit."
He scratched the back of his neck. "What do you think it means?"
I rocked back and fourth on my heels, "You tell me."
He slowly walked over to me, mere inches from me, he bent down to my ear, "I think you know what it means." He whispered.
I forgot how to breathe. Oh my God I'm going to faint.
"Hey Soph, is it okay if Chris comes over?" Bayleigh asked, interrupting us. Her eyes widen at the sight in front of her, Tristian backed away.
"Did I interrupt something here?" She curiously asked.
"No." Tristian and I answered in unison.
Bayleigh walked away but not before whispering a "Okayyyyy."
I walked past Tristan and to the front door opening it, "I'll see you later."
He walked out, but stopped in the doorway, "So do you accept my apology?"
I was hesitant, "Yeah... Sure." I smiled.
A grin set in his face, "Good. I'm happy. And also cute pj's , he was always my favorite on the show." And he walked out the door.
I shut the door, looking down, crap I forgot I was in my Cookie Monster pajamas.
