You were sat on the green fresh spring grass, humming a tune your father used to sing to you every night before bed. breathing in the fresh air and feeling the warm sunlight on your skin.
♬I'm lying on the moon
My dear,
I'll be there soon
It's a quiet and starry place
Time's we're swallowed up
In space we're here a million miles away
There's things I wish I knew
There's no thing I'd keep from you
It's a dark and shiny place
But with you my dear
I'm safe and we're a million miles away
We're lying on the moon
It's a perfect afternoon
Your shadow follows me all day
Making sure that I'm
Okay and we're a million miles awayYou remembered just how he would sing to you. You would always harmonized along side with him, while he played the guitar beside your bed.
"oh please teach me how to play guitar!!" little you said excitedly, jumping into your father's arms. "alright sweetheart, but you have to go to bed now.." he kissed your forehead and tucked you into your cloud-like bed.
You let out a small sigh as a tear form on the edge of your eye.
"I miss you, dad.."
you wiped your eyes before the drop of water could fall out. As you were collecting your thoughts, a voice behind startled you,
"Y/n dear, ready for lunch?" a sudden shadow blocked the sunlight.
You looked up to see your sweet grandmother who has been taking care of you for 4 years since you were 7.
**Back story**
Back when you were 7, your parents gave you a goodnight kiss, not forgetting an "I Love you" just like any other nights before you dozed off.
What you didn't know back then was that would've been the last time you'll hear those words from them.
You woke up the next morning on your grandmother's lap. "Mom.. Dad..?" you rubbed your tired eyes. "Morning dear.. you're parents had something to do, so you'll be staying with us alright?"
These grandparents were from your mother's side, as your grandparents from your father's side had already passed long ago.
They were part of the Vexmoor bloodline, but you were just a kid, you knew nothing about bloodlines or blood types, and well you didn't care to find out anyways.
Your grandparents both have faded red eyes, but that was all that made your family different than the others. Besides that, you all were just the same as any other folks.
the first years were filled with you trying to ask your grandparents "when are they coming back?" but they never gave an actual answer, till one day you just stopped asking.
Of course as a curious child it was annoying at first, i mean gosh it was obvious they knew something. But you soon let go of it, they'll tell you when they feel you're ready.. maybe..
**End of back story**
you gave a soft smile, nodding before standing up and patted your clothes to get any grass or dirt off.
taking your grandmother's dry hand as you both walked inside the house.
The Vermooxs were wealthy, yes, but your grandparents hated big houses. They find it inconvenient and wasteful. They choose not to spend their money on things they find rather useless. Instead they got a medium sized cottage house next to a lake instead of a mansion with a 10 foot gate in front.
