Lucy closed her eyes hoping her spell would work and she would be transported to Alfea this time and not some random world. She felt herself float in the air for a brief minute before she fell down onto grass.
As she opened her eyes she was overjoyed with the sight of Alfea, it is a large castle with pink walls and blue roofs built around a castle and even though this would be her first year attending the college for fairies it had a cozy and homely feeling to it which helped ease her nervousness.
She picked up her mini black backpack which she had used to pack up the last of her belongings and slung it over her one shoulder as she started to walk towards the gate of the school.
When she walked through the school gate her eyes landed on Griselda who was the head of discipline she knew her through stories she was told by her mother and her friends.
She saw many of the girls look her over and she could guess why she had opted for heels, knee high white stockings, a fashionable blue dress and matching gold earrings along with a choker to match the heel and buckles of her shoes.
She looked more like a model rather than a student.
When she walked over to Griselda, she was greeted by her steely hard eyes meeting her's over the clipboard she was holding too close to her face for a person with glasses. "
What is your name young lady?" "Lucy of Zenith." She looked down to her clipboard and when she saw my name on the list she put it down for a brief second. "You may head in."
Lucy headed over to a group of sophomores, she fit with them so perfectly and easily inserted herself into their conversation about some specialists at Red Fountain and wandering about their schedules this year.
She listened closely to which teacher's they hated, what classes they liked the most, and what lunch would be like this year.
At some point Griselda cleared her throat loud enough for all the students to hear. "Upperclassmen you are dismissed, you may go find your dorms." They all bowed respectfully and left whilst all of the freshman clustered together. "This school will be your home for the next five years but this home can cease to be yours at any moment."
"The rules of this institution are based on discipline, disregard these rules and I'll personally escort you to the front gate." She pointed her long skinny finger to the gate which all of us had walked through. "This is not a magician school, you are not here to learn hocus pocus. Consequently you may not use your powers in the hallways or other common areas. In fact the only place where you may display your powers is in your classroom under teacher supervision."
Lucy's eyes drifted off to look at her fellow classmate's faces while Griselda droned on, she started to wonder if her mother felt like she was going to fall asleep standing up listening to her as well.
Than she spotted whom she believed to be Faragonda the headmistress, her suspicions were confirmed by Griselda who once again felt the need to clear her throat. Seriously is she sick or something? She thought to herself.
"Ladies here comes your headmistress attention." Faragonda raised her hand slightly and than brought it back down to clasp her other hand.
"Oh really there's no need to be so starchy. I hope Ms. Griselda hasn't frightened you too much." Griselda opens her mouth like she can't believe what the headmistress just said about her all the while Lucy has to hold back a laugh.
"Welcome to Alfea, the best fairy school in the whole of Magix. Mind you it's also the only one, now come on in ladies." Most of the freshman were so excited that they were now being invited in to the school of their dreams and out of the summer heat with only a light breeze to respite the sweltering heat. "Here we are and so we begin our orientation session by the end of which we should all know each other better."
"Becoming a fairy is hard work but I know that everyone here can do it. Keep in mind that the teachers and I are always here to help you. Okay enough with the boring stuff, feel free to explore your surroundings but be very careful. There are dangers lurking about stay away from the witches of cloud tower."
"Alright speeches are over everyone is dismissed, your free until dinner time." Griselda clapped her hands lightly but loud enough for everyone's eyes to be on her while she was talking.
"I'll see you all tomorrow, and don't forget classes start at 8 o'clock sharp do be punctuational."
All the freshman started to walk away after that last bit, eager to see every bit of the school which would become their home and to settle into their dorms before dinner time.
Lucy skipped up the stairs two at a time, a huge smile spreading across her face each time she did so. She eventually she found a door with her name on it she opened the door handle and threw it open when she saw all the suitcases and belongings strewn around the living room and hall of the dorm she felt extremely relieved that her mother had paid for her to have her own room.
Even though Lucy was a social butterfly she still loved her privacy and needed alone time to recharge.
She was about to head straight into her room when she heard a loud commotion come from the other room, she walked into see huge piles of snow everywhere and a hand sticking out of it. "Help me." Comes a muffled voice from the pile of snow.
"Oh!" Lucy runs over to the pile of snow and grips tightly onto the other girls hand, she tugged until she got her out of the snow and both of the girls fell onto the floor laughing. "Nice to meet you snow girl, I'm Lucy of Zenith."
The girl's green eyes met Lucy's. "I'm Alice." She shakes the bits of snow out of her hair. "I didn't realize we were expecting a snowstorm." A tall lean brown girl with silky hair leaning against the doorway blurts out.
"Sorry I got frustrated and it turned into a deadly winter storm." Alice stood up brushing snow off her clothes as well before she shook the girl's hand, who was presumably her roommate. "I'm Alice." She gives her a short little wave not wanting to touch the girl's hand as she knew her's was probably still wet or cold from the snow possibly both.
"Hmm nice to meet you, I'm Erin." She set down her suitcase and her eyes drifted around the room. "I wish I'd packed a shovel."
Alice raises her hand and all of the snow starts to melt and than the puddles start to shrink until there was no trace that it was ever there to begin with.
After that Lucy shortly left the two girl's room not wanting to invade nor wait a second longer to be in the comfort of her own room and lay under the blankets on her bed which always gave her a sense of safety.
She didn't leave her room for the rest of the day and so she didn't know what her other dorm mates looked like or their names or any of that stuff which she promised to herself she'd figure out tomorrow, she had a mini-fridge which held stuff she could snack on and she had her own bathroom. So later that night she took a shower and collapsed onto her bed after she picked out her clothes for tomorrow and texted her mom that she loved her and dad and that she was going to sleep knowing she'd be out of it in the morning.
