Chapter 20

'did Danielle like her, her or the girl at the bar?"

The next day (afternoon)

Stefania was supposed to meet Danielle at the coffee shop in 15 minutes, so she was putting on an outfit. She went with a white jumper, and black jeans.

20 minutes later..

Danielle was sitting at one of the circle tables, just by the window. She couldnt help but think about how the Italian must've felt yesterday. She was so caught up in her thoughts she didnt even realize Stefania had came in and was making her way to the table.

"Hey Stefania" Danielle greeted with a warm smile as Stefania sat across from her.

"Hi" Stefania spoke as she looked around the Coffee shop. "This place hasnt changed one bit" chuckled slightly.

It was silence for a brief moment until Stefania spoke again. "So uh why did you want to meet here?" She questioned.

"Can we get coffee first?" Danielle asked.

"Yeah sure"

The two women ordered, and got there coffees.

"So i wanted to meet here because i wanted to say that im sorry for not showing up." Danielle nervously stated meanwhile the brunette was calm.

"Im sure you have your reasons" Stefania took a sip of her coffee.

" i understand if you might not want to see me agai-" The blonde was cut off by the Italian.

"Its fine, its fine why didnt you just call or something? I sat there like a dummy" Stefania chuckled slightly, dragging her finger along the rim of the circular table.

"And i am so sorry for that." She looked Stefania im the eyes." As much as Danielle didnt want to mention it she still did. "My brother..." The younger woman went over all the events that happened.

"Im sorry that happened" Stefania reached over to grab Danielle's hand, caressing the back of it.

"So can we reschedule? I will show up this time" Danielle gently squeezed Stefania's hand.

"That'll be great" The brunette smiled.

"So do you have anything planned for today?" Danielle took a sip of her coffee.

"I actually have to pick up my daughter from my brother's house in a couple of hours, why?"

"I really want to get to know you?" Danielle half questioned, tilting her head to the side as her cheecks began to redden m.

"Was that a question savre?" Stefania laughed at Danielle's sudden nervousness.

"No- yes"

The two began to talk to eachother about everything from hobbies, jobs, eachother, were they grew up, personal lives, and with all that, they were getting to know one another.

"So at the restaurant and at the bar, why were you alone?" Danielle asked.

"Because i was sad i guess, just another reminder - i cant really explain what  i was feeling, but it was the third year anniversary of my ex fia- of Aurora's death." Stefania cleared her throat. " The restaurant was the first day we'd met, i was waitress and she was a waitress, i had to train her for the job." Stefania chuckled at the memory. "Uhh she asked me out for a drink at that bar and yeah."

"Im so sorry for you loss" Danielle felt so sad by her story and she felt so sorry for her. She felt that the woman infront of her deserved the world. "I wish i had the right words, just know i care" stefania gave her a smile of appreciation.

The two sat and talked a little more until it was almost time for Stefania to go. Both women stood up and rounded the small table meeting eachother.

"Thank you for having me" Stefania smiled as she grabbed her jacket and stood infront of Danielle.

"Thank you for showing up." Danielle was met with the the brunettes, chesnut eyes, and beautiful smile. Danielle was in awe of this woman. The way she did everything. She was so caring and forgiving. Danielle didnt realize she was staring until Stefania said, "Are you okay?" The brunette grabbed hold of Danielle's hand softly.

"Y- yeah i am, drive safe, you look beautiful by the way" and with that Danielle held Stefania's hand so that she could place a kiss on the back.

" thank you bella, you do the same, and please...you are breathtaking" Stefania smiled and left the shop waving at the blonde before she left.
