Chapter 2

"No! This can't be happening! Waterstripe please tell me it isn't true!", Sweetflower begged. "I'm sorry sister but it's true. Your kits have all passed at birth." Waterstripe meowed in a calming tone trying to sooth her sister's broken heart. "Dear Starclan how could you do this to us!" Fluffyfur yelled to Starclan! "Sweetflower what's wrong?" Berrykit squealed. The mates had kept Berries a secret until now and she was now called Berrykit so nobody would suspect she wasn't clan-born. "Nothing sweet heart. Just go back to sleep." Sweetflower mewed holding back her tears. "What are we going to do Fluffyfur!", Sweetflower was so dull with pain that she couldnt think straight. "Well you could tell the clan that all of your kits had died except Berrykit at birth. At least it would be the half-truth." Waterstripe suggested. "Yes thats what we must do. From this day on no-body except us and Bramblestar shall know that Berrykit was born from us. We all must vow to never let her find out the real truth about her birth parents. The clan shall not judge her by where she was born and by her strength and nobility as a   warrior. She must never know! It is not her destiny!" Fluffyfur's voice was shakey but sure. Even though they had not given birth to Berrykit they would raise her as their own and no-one should find out what had really happened.
