Aiden knocked on the door, seconds later a girl with blonde hair down to her shoulders and glasses opens the door.
"Sophie!" Aiden screamed and hugged her, pushing the book that he was holding onto into Sophie's chest.
"Aiden.. you're hurting me." Sophie managed to squeeze out of his hug.
"Sorry." Aiden backed up and looked at her, his face still looked red and puffy from crying.
"Whoa, what happened?" Sophie said, sounding really concerned.
"Mom..- Mom, passed away this morning." Aiden's voice sounded like scratchy. You could tell he was holding back tears.
"Oh my.. Im sorry to hear that, come in." Sophie motioned for him to come in.
Sophie and Aiden both walked upstairs into her huge room, her bookshelves were full of books on medicinal herbs and ways to heal others. Sophie has always been interested in helping others, she learned how to cook, clean and learned how to use medicine. Aiden has known Sophie for 12 years and ever since they first met he has always indulged in her interests and dreams, There was even a point where Aiden had a small crush on her. Though that was shut down quick due to the fact that Sophie liked Women.
"So what is with that big book in your arms?" Sophie asked, she didn't even look up from the book, she just kept staring at it.
"Well.. let me explain, I found mom's diary and it talked about magic, me and her health declining." Aiden tried his best to summarize
"Wait- Magic?" Sophie raised a brow.
"Yes, she talked about how no spell or any kind of magic can stop her sickness.. and then a month later, she talks about how she found a way to slow it down but it takes her magic!" Aiden was looking at the front of the book.
"Wait, so what are you trying to tell me?" Sophie asked
"I think my mother was a witch." Aiden blurted out.
"That is a bold accusation to make dude." Sophie put her hand on her chest.
"Then why did she write about something taking her magic to slow down her illness..?" Aiden asked
"Im not sure but I highly doubt she had magic, if she did, im sure we all would of know about it, even her own husband." Sophie said, sitting down on her bed.
"Then this book.. just sort of fell on me, and when I touched it I felt everything." Aiden said sort of mumbling to himself but Sophie could still hear.
"What do you mean by "felt everything?" Sophie asked.
"When I touched the book, I felt all these emotions.. like a river, it just flowed and I felt sad.. happy, nervous. Just a lot of emotions all at once." Aiden explained.
"Weird-" Sophie got cut off.
"Now I have this rush of feeling nervous? I have no reason to be nervous." Aiden said.
"Aiden, Calm down this could be a simple panic attack or anxiety attack." Sophie said, trying to calm Aiden down and reassure him that everything is ok. Everything was gonna be ok.
"is it-" Aiden was interrupted by a knock at the front door.
"Let me go get that." Sophie said as she walked off and answered the front door.
