Narrator's POV
The little girl panted as she ran forward, her hands filled with her favourite snacks. 'The sky's getting darker!' She thought increasing her speed with great worry, running past a lot of people and even bumping into some. Her brows were creased lightly and her face bedded in sweat. Her parents never allowed her to go out during that time.
"I remember that day like it was yesterday..."
Soon enough, the girl caught sight of a small house just around the corner, where it normally always was. She entered the compound and heaved out a heavy sigh, relieved she made it back home in time without getting killed or mauled. "I'm home!" She yelled to get her parents attention, but to her surprise...there was no response.
"Why's no one answering? I'm home!" She yelled out the last part but once again, no voice was heard from the other side. "I shouldn't have left without they're permission." She hung her head low as she made way to the front door, holding tightly unto what she spent some of her money on. Believing that the silence was a new way of her parents expressing their anger towards her.
She didn't even have to step in before the horrid smell filled her nostrils, catching her completely off guard. The inside looked dark, she couldn't see in there completely...but with the light which shone in from the front door, she had just enough to get a clear view of her lovely parents lying on the ground, huge wounds and blood everywhere...even some scratched around the walls and all over the floor.
Her blood ran cold the moment she caught sight of this, her pupils dilated in horror as she watched the red liquid slowly roll over to her like oil. She backed away a little bit but stood still the moment it reached her and was forced to look down at her own reflection.
What kind of expression displayed on her face? Well it's not really describable. Just the kind you'll have when you leave the house for five minutes and come back home to see everyone dead.
She didn't even know when she dropped the snacks she was holding unto, they smacked to the ground as they rolled and scattered across the living room floor, smeared in a deep shade of red. Her mouth hung open as she stared at her parent's lifeless bodies, tears running her cheeks in silence, until she finally uttered...
"I'm sorry... mama... papa, I'm sorry for going against your orders." She bowed halfway to the body of her parents and apologized. What happened here? Could've been the question that weighed in her thoughts...but she already has a good guess on what occured.
Suddenly she saw someone's reflection behind her own in the deep red blood and quickly turned around to see who this was, she did it so fast she almost stumbled back.
"Calm down dear, I'm not here to harm you..." she heard a sweet velvety voice... and raised her head to look up at this person. Standing before her was a beautiful, tall woman, with long flowing hair and a slender build. She slightly raised her right hand up in the air as she said this, trying to prove her statement which caused the little brunette to furrow her brows...
"Did you do this?" Her voice was soft and cute but the intensity is what made the lady shiver a little and she liked it.
She then bent low to meet the girl at eye-level and slightly lifted up her chin."Oh my, a fierce one." She smiled delightedly as she scanned the little girls face while turning her head around a few times, the girl got sick of it and smacked her hand away irritated and backing away immediately after.
