I didn't have much experience with normal coworker relationships, but I was pretty sure that wasn't how you ended a phone call with them.

I frowned, trying desperately to rationalize what Henry had just said. But I couldn't. There was no way to brush off the fact that he'd just told one of his 'work friends', Mike, that he loved him.

He lowered the phone from his ear and hung up. As he turned around I pinned him with a look of anger and confusion and all he did was laugh. I was furious. How could he find this funny? He was cheating on me!

He spoke before I could start yelling. "My mom," he explained when he saw my anger. He held up his phone sheepishly. "My cousin Mike called and had me talk to my mom. I'm sorry."

My relief was quickly replaced with utter embarrassment. Of course he wasn't cheating! Why did I have to be so stupid?

"Oh god. No, it's fine," I laughed.

"She's getting so old, Evie," he sighed. "I don't know how much longer she has. She's totally lost all of her memories."

"Oh sweetie. I'm so sorry. Do you need to go visit her?"

"I will this weekend, but I was going to talk to you about something tonight." As if just then remembering, all of his sadness about his mom left him and he smiled at me.

"And what's that?" I urged.

"Evie? How would you feel about moving in with me?"

"Oh!" I said in surprise. "Well that's sort of an unexpected question..." I didn't know how to answer it. Henry was great but this would mean that I was becoming incredibly committed. He frowned at my hesitation. Crap. "Of course!" I finally answered.

"Great!" He pulled me to him and found my lips with his. I was happy, maybe Henry was the guy I belonged with. Commitment wasn't a bad thing.

"When?" I asked as I pulled away.

"As soon as you can. We can get a van or something over to your flat and load up all of your things," he said.

"Okay," I nodded. "How about tomorrow night?" I knew I was rushing into things when I had been so hesitant only a moment before. But now that the idea of not being woken up by Teagan at 5:30 in the morning everyday had been planted in my head, all I wanted to do was move.

"Tomorrow night? Sure, I can do that."

I stayed at Henry's flat that night. I had been doing that a lot lately so I guess it was yet another reason why moving in together made sense.

We stopped by my place to pick up my laptop and a few other things I would need for the next day. Then we drove the short distance to an area with three different buildings of flats, one of which belonged to Henry.

The first thing I did once inside was put a tea kettle on the stove. It was part of my routine. If I went out during the day I was usually craving a cup of tea by the time I got back. Hence my habit of immediately boiling water upon my entering the flat.

Henry laughed as he came in behind me and sat down on his couch. "If I didn't know, I'd think you had always lived in Britain."

I smiled and went to sit with him. "Guess I've just found where I belong, huh?"

He nodded and took my hands in his thoughtfully. We sat together like that until the kettle began to whistle. I got up and prepared each of us a cup, bringing them back to the living room.

The night made me realize how ready I was to move in. We headed to his bedroom late and I slept longer and better than I usually got to at my flat.
