As it turns out faking your own death is harder than it looks. Well let me back up.
When I first heard about the arrangement I was really bummed, mostly because all the girls Mother tries to set me up with are snobs. Quilla was different though. She was quiet and shy, but also drop dead gorgeous.
I mean not that sun-girls aren't pretty, they just all look the same: blond with blue eyes and tan. Quilla was different, she had jet black hair and misty grey eyes.
I didn't get to know her very well before the wedding, but I get the distinct impression I was not her ideal partner.
I admit I can be a little.... arrogant. But hey, they other girls used to like it.
The ceremony was like incredibly long and boring I tried so hard to to yawn in the middle of it. After the ceremony there was a reception. It took me a solid ten minutes to find my new bride. She was hiding in a corner. That's when I told her I like actually kinda liked her.
When the party ended we went up to our new room in the palace, where she told me straight up her mother wanted her to kill me. I was in total shock. I was all "I actually get married and her family wants me dead"
She looked at me and said "you can't run, she'll know I didn't kill you. But I have an idea..."
She took the knife sliced my shirt, scratched me up so it looked like I got stabbed and laid some red paint under me. She told me whenever anybody entered the room to hold my breath.
Somehow it worked.
