Paradise Bound (La Muenta Series #1)

Prologue

I'm on my way to the mall, galing work; Exhausted. Tumunog ang telepono ko, I reached for it buti na lang at nag stop ang traffic light. I quickly answered it,

"Hello Rai, San kana?" Curiosity was evident on his voice.

"I'm almost there, mag ra- right na lang." I scratched my neck.

"Alright." Binabaan na ako ng telepono ni Karl.

Timing at nag 'go signal na, I took a right at dumeritso na sa parking lot. Maraming naka park, mag papasko na kasi kaya ang mga tao nasa mall bumibili ng kakailanganin. Which is why I'm here.

I texted Karl where they're at, at nagreply naman siya agad kaya diri-diritso ako ng lakad. Found Karl sitting in a waiting area ng Kidz Zone Playhouse, I waved so he'll see me buti nalang at nakita niya agad ako sa dami pa naman ng mga tao. He stood up and pointed the Playhouse, I saw my daughter in a jumpsuit; Smiling while playing, my stress went away it's like a some kind of magic.

"Nabagot kasi kaya pina laro ko muna dito" Karl standing beside me, nakapa mulsa.

"Ohh, Sorry natagalan akong mag out" I crunched my nose.

"It's okay, I understand." He said; Smiling widely.

Karl has always been there since nalipat ako sa U.S, nakaka hiya nga at sumama pa talaga siya umuwi dito sa pilipinas when mas marami siyang opportunity doon sa U.S. Namamahala siya ngayon sa business nila dito, kaya't na tuwa ang mga magulang nito, ayaw naman kasi ni Karl bumalik rito simula nung nag hiwalay sila ng long time girlfriend niya, but I don't know if bakit sumama siya pauwi dito. Well, it's none of my business.

"Mommy!" Napalingon ako sa gawi ng aking anak, na ngayon ay tumatakbo papalapit sa akin.

I opened my arms widely to hug her, she's my strength since day one.

"Aww, baby mommy missed you" I kissed his cheeks and hugged her.

She giggled, made my heart melt, it's like a beautiful music playing.

"You were taking so long mommy" She said pouting and crossing her arms.

"Adalia, I'm really sorry. Mommy was working. I'll make it up to you!" I touch the tip of her nose which made her crunched it and giggled.

We went to the grocery area, Karl is carrying Adalia, while I'm pushing the cart. I looked for the list I wrote earlier.

I started looking for the things I wrote. I looked back and lost Karl ang Adalia kaya bumalik ako sa dinaanan ko kanina baka na pahinto sa mga candies or something.

I looked around me, pero wala. Kaya I texted Karl kung asan sila. Well, he replied nasa bread area raw sila, I walked to the bread area at nakita sila roon nag tatawanan.

"Mind if I join in?" I shrugged.

Adalia walks towards me handing me my favorite type of bread. My daughter really know how to make my stress away, she's so thoughtful.

"Mommy, it's your favorite bread isn't it?" She asked; loudly.

"Yes baby, Thank you so much"  I reached for her forehead and gave it a smack.

"Excuse me, ma'am." A familiar deep baritone voice coming from behind, made me freeze in where I'm standing. There is no way he's here right?, Maybe I'm overreacting, shit.

Karl grabbed my forearm ng natantong hindi ako tumabi,

Which made me face the guy who owned the voice.

In full shock, My eyes widened and immediately grabbed my daughter's hand.

His eyes were cold, his jaw tighten the moment he saw my daughter.
