Part 15

Shukla family were the happiest for the past few days with Arjun confessing his love for Avneet. They both cracked a deal with an American company and had to flew to US for the project. It was a day before their departure when Arjun proposed Avneet during their success party. Sidharth was so so happy for his brother. But Sana was struggling to deal with her own problems that she couldn't enjoy her heart out for her sister and brother-in-law. They both were like her children. She had brought up both of them with utmost care and love. She was the mother figure for both of them and she hated herself for not being able to take part in their happiness whole heartedly. How could she? Her whole world was crumbling. She was fighting all alone, even taking breaths seemed to be difficult for her. She hadn't had the courage to talk to Sidharth yet. What is she even suppose to tell him? That she can't gave him the one happiness that he had craved for his whole life? No, she can't do that. Shyra was also leaving to her father's house tomorrow. After that she was going to be all alone in the house. She can't avoid Sidharth anymore now, with only both of them in the house. Shehnaaz was busy with her thought that she didn't know when Sid came from the washroom and took a seat beside her.

"Oye...." He shook her causing her to turn to him. "Kaha khoyi ho? Kya hua?" He asked worriedly. He does that a lot nowadays, a lot. Sana being unnecessarily quiet, worried him. He thought maybe Arjun and Avneet leaving for US was the reason behind her gloominess. But why was she avoiding him? He desperately wanted an answer for that. She looked weak. She was not having her food properly. She hardly ate one time a day. But she kept lying to him about that although he could assume the truth by seeing her thin body and pale face.

"Kuch nhi...." She said nonchalantly.

"Idhar dekh..." He said cupping her face. She looked into his eyes which reflected love and only love. "Kya hua hai baby tujhe? Bata na... kitne din ho gye hai yaar. Why are you torturing me like this?" He asked, literally begging. His voice filled with concern and worry which made her more guilty.

"I'm not worth of your love Sidharth". She said inwardly for the nth time.

"Sacchi kuch nhi hua..." She gave a fake smile to him only for his relief. But he was not satisfied. He pulled her into a hug and she digged her face into his chest. He rubbed her back with one hand and the other caressed her head. She was feeling like crying but she controlled herself.

"Kyu jhoot bol rhi hai baby tu? Hmm?" He said placing his chin on her head. She didn't reply. She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of his chest. "Kal Shyra jaa rhi hai isiliye sad haina tu? Arjun Avneet bhi chale gye... Shyra bhi jaayegi to tu akeli pad jaayegi haina?" He asked while she hummed to avoid further questions. "To mai huna baby yaha.... Tera hi to hu mai". He pulled away cupping her cheek. He rubbed her cheek with his thumb.

"Tu kal se office aa jaa. Ghar pe koi nhi hai... tu akele kya karegi yaha?"

"Mera mann nhi hai Sidharth... mai aa jaungi kabhi". She said before he let out a defeated sigh. He tries to convince her almost everyday to come to office but she behaved like she was least interested. She was trying to actually avoid spending time with him.

"Theek hai... tumhe to apni manmaani karni hai. Mai ab aur force nhi karunga tujhe". He said and stood up. "Chal... sote hai. Bohot late ho gya".

"Um... wo mai Shyra ke room mein so rhi hu". She said.

"Kyu?" He asked scrunching his face. "Pichle ek hafte se yahi karyakram chal rha hai tera... Shyra ko akele sone ki aadat hai, lekin Shyra ke maamu ko aadat nhi hai..."

"Wo kal jaa rhi haina". She said in a low voice. "Please...." She made a puppy face which she knew he couldn't resist. He unwantedly agreed.

That night too Shehnaaz didn't slept. Sidharth slept thinking that Sana would be sleeping with Shyra. But she didn't visit Shyra's room. She felt guilty and miserable when Shyra talked about how she wants a little brother to play with. Sana couldn't tolerate such kind of talks now. She remembered the other day when Sidharth said to Shyra that when she come back from her Aunt's house she will have a little brother to play with. She saw the glow and excitement on his face, how desperately he wants to have a family with her. She was already feeling so worthless and Sidharth's concern and Shyra's demand added up her guilt. She spent the whole night in the balcony, crying her heart out and sleeping from being exhausted.
