"You're trying to tell me, you two are just friends?" Piper asked as we all sat in the living room. I had just dropped Riley home and Piper's been gushing for details since she left
"dad help me out" I said shooting him a look but he chuckled taking his eyes off of the TV to look at me
"Son, you're on your own. Even I thought something was going on between you two" He said making me roll my eyes

"As much as sure I'd like something to happen. I'm pretty sure I fucked up my chances long before Riley and I became close" I said making them look at me  confused
"Firstly, language and secondly. What could you have done that was so bad" He asked making me bow my head 
"I can't tell you with Piper in the room" He said making Piper object
"Piper, out a minute" Dad warned her

Piper knew not to argue with Dad without good cause, hell we both knew that
"What did you do James" he said sitting forward a little
"I did something so stupid Dad" I said looking at him

After explaining it to dad he gasped lightly sitting back in his chair
"You did all of that and the girl gave you a clean slate?" He asked and I nodded 
"I mean I already thought she was incredible but James. I think you have more of a shot then you realise" He said 

I looked at him confused waiting for him to explain further
"You did something like that and Riley took it upon herself not only to grow from it but to also forgive you for it" He said 
"I think if you were to reach out for something like a date. She's accept" He smiled 

"Just remember what your mum used to say James" he said grabbing my attention again
"Your first love may not be the first person you kiss, the first person you date. But your first love will be the person you compare everyone else to" He started
"the person you'll never truly get over, even when you've got yourself convinced you've moved on" I smiled making Dad nod 

"Exactly" He said before I rose to my feet

Riley

After a lot of persuasion, Michelle and the other girls from the Troupe had convinced me to come out to Parkour Alley. I'd just left James but if these boys mean business he'll be here in a little bit
"So, how is our favourite International female soloist" Giselle teased making me chuckle lightly
"I'm your only female international soloist" I laughed while everyone else joined in

"Yeah I know, I feel like since you joined the Troupe we haven't really had time to sort of get to know you" Giselle continued
"Yeah James sort of scooped you up and went running" Thalia said making me chuckle
"where do you love birds end up anyway?" Eldon asked 

Before I could say another word, James came through the clearing causing the boys to pipe up into a cheer while the girls laughed
"Evening all" he said coming to sit next to me on the bench

"Long time no see" I teased making him chuckle as he nudged me slightly
"Let me guess, you two just left each other?" West said smirking with his arms across his chest
"Something like that" I said looking up at James

"I've said it before, I'll say it again" Giselle said before looking around at the girls 
"Lovebirdssss" all of them sung making the boys laugh while James and I rolled our eyes

It took a minute or two to get A-Troupe onto a new subject but once they were, James and I were in the clear
"Can I talk to you for a moment" He asked, I looked at him a little confused before nodding 
"Of course" I said as we both got up moving slightly away from the Troupe

"Is everything okay?" I asked, James nodded looking behind us before looking at me again
"I er" he stuttered, I chuckled taking his hands into mine so he would stop playing with his fingers

"I don't really do this, hell I've never done this" He rambled
"James, what's going on" I asked making him look at me, the moment his eyes locked onto mine he smiled

"Do you want to go on a Date? Like a real date?" He asked making me scoff a little with a small smile

"What?" I breathed making James close his eyes and attempt to pull his hands away
"I know I was being stupid why on earth would-" He started to spiral
"Woah, I never said no" I said making his eyes instantly snap open looking at me

"I would love to go on a date with you" I smiled making him smile back
