Lexi woke up with a roaring headache. And she felt like she was chained down on the bed. No –it was worse. It felt like she got beat up THEN chained to the bed. Her limbs had totally lost motion. Or maybe they were just weighed down by a couple of hundred of kilograms.
“Who the hell beat me up?” she muttered doggedly, disentangling herself from the heavy blankets that covered her body, hitting something on her left in the process.
Lexi turned and let out a squeak of indignation when she saw what(or who) it was. She sat up with a snap, staring at the other person, who appeared to have just woken up.
“Ow,” Xander muttered, rubbing his cheek. He was looking back at her, waiting for whatever hell she was about to raise. I’m giving it five seconds.
Lexi screamed.
He shrugged. Lost a bet with myself again. Then with much struggling, he managed to clamp his hand over her mouth, although she was still screaming against it. “For heaven’s sake, Lexi, would you stop being such a girl now?”
Thankfully, she stopped.
“Crrn yerr lmmt mrr grm nrm?” she spoke against his palm, looking at him with a furious expression.
“What?” he asked.
Lexi rolled her eyes and pointed at his hand.
“Do you promise not to scream?”
She nodded, and he released her.
“What are you doing in my bed?!” She beat at him furiously with her fists.
Xander raised his hands to shield himself from her blows. “Ow! Lexi! You promised not to scream.” She stopped hitting him for a moment. He seized the opportunity to say, “Uhm, and for the record, Lexi, this is my bed.”
That made her eyes widen further, accentuating the perpetually surprised look in her face. Then she seemed to recover. “Your room?” she said disbelievingly and resumed hitting him.
He stood up to avoid them. “Well maybe you should think twice before sleeping in the rain.” When he was sure she wouldn’t attack again, he sat back down and cuffed her wrists with his hands. “Now please listen carefully okay?”
She nodded mutely.
“If you make as much as a peep, I’m going to chuck you out.”
“What? But -”
He cut her off. “What did I just say?”
“Fine,” she grumbled.
He raised an eyebrow. “This morning I found you in front of my house, soaking and feverish. So I took you in and changed your clothes -” he stopped and put a finger over her mouth when she began to protest “-so you won’t get sick further. Right now, I’m going to make you breakfast. After that, we’re going to talk about whatever it was you wanted to talk about last night.” He let her go.
Lexi remained silent, feeling her face grow steadily warmer. Xander was saying things as if they were nothing, but she couldn’t help but wonder.
“And oh,” Xander added when he reached the door. “I didn’t see anything worth seeing, if that’s what you’re worried about.” He ducked, laughing, in time to avoid the missile-like pillow that went flying towards him.

See you next week! Nan bogoshippeo!
Kevin stared at the message on his screen, a puzzled expression on his face. Somehow he’d all but forgotten that he’d agreed they date again. Of course, he wouldn’t tell that to the others –it would be risky. The thought brought back Eli’s words to his mind, coupled with a guilty feeling that crept up his chest. What had happened the night before, he didn’t really want to think it was a mutual thing.
