Call Out My Name.

"You.. don't know where you are?"

Y/N's head was pounding. "What happened-" they sounded like shit. They could see someone hovering over them, they felt arms holding them gently.

"Are you okay?" the unknown figure asked in a raspy sort of voice, but it was weirdly comforting and intimidating at the same time.

"Where- where.. am I..?"
"Huh?"

The person was confused by the question.

"You.. don't know where you are?"
".." Y/N nodded no.

The person helped Y/N sit up, their head still pounding, but less intense than earlier.

"So you're an outlander? someone from another.. world...?"
"Huh.. I guess.

Y/N didn't know what to say. They didn't know how they ended up in this world.

"I'm Y/N. You?"
"..Xiao. Adeptus Xiao."
"Adeptus?"

Xiao was surprised. Well, not so surprised about Y/N not knowing what an "Adeptus" is, as they are an outlander.

"..I cannot stay by your side forever, uh.. Y/N."
"Yes, I am aware. I do not expect you to. But before you go, may I ask you something?"

Xiao nodded yes.

"Where exactly am I?"
"Teyvat, Liyue. Liyue is the nation you currently are in."
"Oh. Well thank you, Xiao."

Xiao stared at Y/N for a while, silence between them, only the sounds of the breeze and the cliffs was all they could hear.

"If you may ever need me, call out my name."

Then Xiao disappeared as if thin air.

Y/N couldn't help but have an idiotic smile across their face. Their smile dropped when they realized-
"Wait. How the fuck do I get off this cliff?"

Y/N was panting, very tired trying to get off the cliff carefully.
Finally, they were on the ground. Y/N was breathing rapidly, trying to catch their breath.

"Huh.. maybe I should look around for a place to stay."
Y/N was walking around Liyue and arrived at Liyue Harbor.

"Woah.. it's so beautiful here. This place seems.. oddly familiar?"

"It's so colorful here!"

Y/N heard a high-pitched squeaky voice. Assuming it's just a child, they ignored it until-

"I agree. Liyue Harbor is always colorful, even at night."

"Huh? that voice sounds.."

Y/N turned around.
"Aether?!"

"Y/N?"
"Who-"

Aether and Y/N ran to each other for a hug.

"I can't believe you're here! where's Lumine?"
"..."

Aether had a slight frown on his face and looked down.

"Oh.. did something happen? I'm sorry if I've upset you."
"It's.. it's fine. It's just-- we got separated."

He said that last line muttering.

"I'm sorry?"
"N-nevermind. I don't want to talk about it."
"I apologise for upsetting you, Aether."
"No i-it's fine, really."

Aether smiled nervously, Paimon put her tiny hand on his shoulder with a slight worried look.

"Oh, let me introduce you to Paimon."
"Paimon is Aethers.. uhh.. guide and travelling partner!"

"Nice to meet you, Paimon."

Paimon smiles widely.
"Oh! we better get going now. We have a lot to do today!"

"Oh, wait. Say, Y/N, would you want to join us in watching the fireworks?"
"Fireworks?"
"The Lantern Rite."

Y/N stood there confused.

"Oh.. I guess you don't know what it is, huh.. let Paimon explain!"
Paimon explains the Lantern Rite.

"Oh, I see. Well, it does seem fun so sure. I'll join you." Y/N said.
"Yay!" Paimon exclaimed

Aether smiled.

"Hey, Aether."
"Yes?"
"Is there a place here that I can stay at?"
"Uh-huh. Theres an inn outside of Liyue Harbor, I can bring you to it later" Aether said with a smile.
"Thank you." Y/N smiled back.
