"Don't worry guys I jus put him over here! It was a little hard to examine him on the stairs."
I grabbed a pair of latex gloves and walked slowly over to him.
"Tom,"
One step
"What on earth,"
Second step
"possessed you,"
Third step
"to do something,"
Fourth step
"So, STUPID."
I smacked him over the head with the gloves I was already wearing. I then took them off, smacked him on one side of his face. And then preceded to put on the other ones
"I-I thought that was protocol."
"Nononono! You don't move a body from where it was until WE,"
I gestured to Eric who looked like he was gonna punch Tom's face in.
"examine it! It's ruins the integrity of the evidence!"
I moved him aside.
"Go downstairs and get blood samples from all over that puddle. I can't handle your crap right now."
Oh my god, I wanted to push him down the stairs. So bad, just kinda trip him a little so it looks like an accident. God, there was evidence all over the body and now it's been dragged across the carpet. Forensic nightmare.
"Hey Eric, could you try and get particulates from the carpet?"
"Sure, shouldn't take long though, there's only 3 feet of carpet to swab. Should I go supervise the idiot?"
He knelt down a began to swab a small section of the carpet.
"Uh, sure, if you feel comfortable around that little of brain cells."
He laughed a little, and reached over me for some cotton swabs. I looked up and my face was right in his face.
Oh crap oh crap my face is warm now. Don't be that creepy person who smells people Amelia. Don't do it. Ok he's moving, good.
He looks at me, we are, okay, MAXIMUM of a centimeter from each other's noses. I'm not freaking out, totally not. Pfft, who me? Amelia, smartass of the bureau, freaking out? Ha, preposterous.
In my little fit of crazy there I forgot what was going on.
"You can examine the body now, I'm done reaching over you."
I jerk back into my position over the remains, absolutely red faced and FREAKING OUT.
*10 minutes later*
Eric has already joined Tom downstairs, and not 10 minutes later did he yell up to me.
"Are we allowed to use different ends of the same cotton swab for different areas of blood?"
I could hear the moment Eric's forehead vain popped.
"Tom! You f*cking idiot!!"
