Sonic Boom.EXE?!

Chapter 6: Familiar Foes and Allies.

On another part of Seaside Island, a lone cave remained intact. A shadowed figure leaned against the wall until there was a strong smell of...smoke? He blocked his nose in disgust.

"Ugh. Where is that awful smoky smell coming from?" An unknown yet familiar male voice asked himself.

The shadowed figure made his way to the entrance of the cave and stood into the brightness, revealing a slim hedgehog with black fur, six quills (four curved upwards and two curved downwards), two spines on his back, red stripes on his quills, the top of his eyes, arms and legs, white chest fur, peach muzzle and menacing red eyes. He wore white gloves with long, red and black cuffs with a golden band on each wrist and large white, red and black shoes, equipped with the same cuffs and bands. These shoes also include small jets. He also had a gun strapped on his back, with the strap going over his shoulder - Shadow the Hedgehog.

He was speechless. The bright, burning orange flames could've easily engulfed him.

"I know I've said that I've wanted to destroy the world but this is...!"

He checked his surroundings one more time.

These flames were real.

Shadow's eyes widened as his heart was racing, then he clenched his fists and growled. The hedgehog skated off into the distance.

A few miles to the south, Tails was nervously pacing around outside of his workshop when all of a sudden, something struck him across the head, leaving a red trail as it sped at him. The red trail and the speed belonged to none other than Shadow. Then, the hedgehog grabbed Tails by the neck. The fox was trembling with fear and Shadow was trembling with anger. This left the two-tailed fox struggling for air as a small spot of blood soaked through his bandages.

"What happened here?! TELL ME NOW!" Shadow shouted in his face.

"Shadow...why are you like this...if you want to destroy the world anyway?" Tails struggled to ask.

"That's NONE of your concern! NOW TELL ME!" Shadow yelled back.

The dark hedgehog tightened his grip as Tails started choking and gagging.

"Please...let me...go...so I...can...explain." Tails just barely managed to choke out.

Shadow eventually let go of the trembling fox, who fell to the floor as he began to catch his breath.

"T-Thank you. You probably won't believe me when I say this, but...there's this evil spirit whose name is Exe, and he can control Sonic, but that only happens when he experiences intense negative emotions, and that happened earlier when Eggman kidnapped me and almost killed me. Sonic's fear and anger allowed Exe to take control and kill everyone. He then set almost every island on fire, that's how bad he wants to kill us. If anything, me and you are the only ones alive." Tails explained as he got a new bandage from his first aid kit on his belt, and wrapped it across his head.

Shadow looked at him in utter disbelief. The hedgehog then clenched his fists.

Two hundred years into Mobius' future, in a run-down, destroyed city filled with lava, a white hedgehog stood atop a building, holding a white Chaos Emerald. He had two big quills and five small quills that resembled a Japanese maple leaf, he had gold eyes, a peach muzzle, and white chest fur. He wore white gloves with cyan circular symbols and gold cuffs that contained a cyan glow, as well as white, blue and aqua boots, also with gold cuffs - Silver the Hedgehog.
