The Hollow Light Company. Better known to most as the Lawyer Society. A Company of "Lawyers" who work both in the normal legal areas and in the defence of the many different companies and organized groups around the world, such as the Demon Hunting Association.
The Hollow Light Company is based in the heart of Germany, in a large building that seemed to have been designed by a collective of eccentric architects. The building towered over most buildings that shared its street, with great stone steps leading up to the entrance. Inside were ominous pillars, overused marble designs, and chandeliers that seemed to do little in the way of lighting the lobby. Everything residing within the building in form of decoration seemed to clash and collide with the design of the building and overall, lacked professionalism. At least, that's what Samuel thought. He hated the building, he loved his work, but there was only so long he could spend in the eyesore. Any chance he got, he would spend his days in the small Cafe - Cafe Leblanc - directly opposite the Hollow Light building.
Cafe Leblanc was small, quaint, homely, and most importantly, simple. Colours didn't clash, decorations were uniform and minimalistic and everything worked in union with each other. Kingston liked it for that. Every day since he first visited the Cafe, he always sat outside, drank his coffee - no milk, no sugar - and watched the Hollow Light Building hoping and praying for the day some disaster comes and destroys the hideous sight. Then on one day like any other, he got what he had so desperately wished for.
"'Scuse me," Spoke a soft voice. Samuel turned to see a small woman standing next to the table he was seated at. Dressed in a military uniform with long flowing braids and almost indistinguishable makeup. Medals covering her chest. On her hand, which was now on the seat next to Samuel a silver needle-like ring. "Are you Samuel Richter?"
Samuel placed his coffee down gently and adorned a serious face.
"Who's asking?" He interrogated. The woman was taken aback for a moment, stuttering as she tried to respond. "I'm kidding." Samuel laughed.
"Oh, okay." The woman awkwardly laughed back. "I'm Simmone Castiel, nice to meet you."
"Samuel Richter, as you know." He moved his hand for a handshake. Simmone eyeballed his hand before accepting the request. "Most refer to me as Kingston."
"Alright, Kingston. I'm here to talk about my transfer to Hollow Light from the Demon Hunting Association."
"Ah, that's you. Okay, then." Kingston picked his beverage back up and sipped from the cup. A moment passed. Kingston saw Simmone still standing and spoke.
"Sit, I don't bite." Simmone forced a laugh before pulling out the chair to see a large, plain black box with silver clips keeping it shut. "Let me get that for you." He heaved the box off the seat, placing it next to an umbrella on the opposite side of his chair, allowing Simmone to sit."Now then, why do you wish to be part of the Lawyer Society?" He asked taking another sip from his cup, staring off at the building opposite.
"Well, I feel like it's a path I wish to take. While it still has the demon-hunting that comes with being part of the D.H.A, there's less of it." She responded with her gaze also on the building across the street.
"And why do you want less demon hunting?" He inquired without moving his eyes.
"Well I don't want to die," Pausing, she looked back at the man before him, who was dressed in a well-ironed black suit paired with a black tie and matching black shirt. Her eyes dropped to the left of his chest, bearing a tiny gold badge. "I can't die. I have a sister to look after and seeing her follow in my footsteps worries me. If I were to die, I don't know what would happen to her."Minutes of silence passed. Simmone wished to interrupt Kingston's concentration but was swiftly stopped by his sudden head movement. He stared up at the sky. A grin plastered his face.
"Finally." He whispered.
"Pardon?"
"Finally!" He exclaimed once more jumping to his feet. "As of now, you're hired!" Simmone gazed at the man in confusion. She didn't understand what had the man so excited.
As fast as lightning her confusion was cleared and her question answered.
