Chapter Four

Dominic stood before me with a deep frown on his face and arms crossed as he spoke. "You do realize what I mean, Dove, right?"

I was annoyed, of course I knew what the hell he meant. I wasn't stupid. "Of course I know. You don't think I don't know that, you don't think I haven't been thinking about it myself. I get that he isn't my soulmate but you do realize we've been together for long enough that me breaking up with him would hurt."

"Kid...that's not what I-"

"Just let me figure stuff out on my own." I backed away from him before ultimately running off, I didn't want to talk about this right now. Not with the current move. Ian and my brother were the only two I really knew here and I had this fear of losing him as a friend the moment I told him we were done. I just couldn't talk to my brother about this, not right now.

Dom was yelling after me but I refused to turn back around. I didn't even stop moving until I was at a safe enough distance.

"Hey, Dove, you okay?" Stiles's voice filled my ear, making me jump. "Shit, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

I smiled weakly. "It's fine, I just really wasn't expecting someone around here."

"Yeah, I was just on my way back from lunch." He said with a sheepish smile rubbing the back of his head. "Anyway, you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I answered. "Just a little tired is all."

"Are you heading back to your room to take a nap then?" He asked.

"I'm not sure yet but I'll see ya later."

"Yeah sure."

And with that I was off again.

I found myself back in my apartment for about an hour before I felt like I had to pent up. I needed to get out, to do something. And so I went for a walk, it was something I knew I could control and get my mind off the situation at hand. Though I hadn't realized just how long I had been gone until my phone started to blow up from the group chat.

Dom95: Dove?

Where are you?

Sister dearest?

Song Dove where the hell are you??

I haven't been able to find you for the last few hours and I'm starting to worry

Kai_iaK: What's going on?

I_a_N: You can't find Dove?

Dom95: No and she was really upset after our conversation earlier

Stiles_Luvz_APPLES: What happened?

She seemed fine earlier when I saw her

I mean maybe a little tired but fine nonetheless

Dom95: How long ago was it that you saw her?

Stiles_Luvz_APPLES: Maybe about two or three hours ago

Dom95: Was that before or after we met for lunch?

Stiles_Luvz_APPLES: A little while later

Dom95: Shit, that could have been after she and I talked then

Kai_iaK: What happened anyway?

Dom95: Um...

I_a_N: It was about me wasn't it?

Dom95: Yeah...

Alix_NOT_Alex: Explain please

Dom95: Dove can't see color

I_a_N: I've been hoping that over the course of us dating that

I can get her to love me back and that maybe fate would have a change of heart

Maybe it would make us soulmates and we'd be set

But there hasn't been any luck

I was also scared of bringing her here because i didn't want it affecting out relationship

But I also don't want to see her hurt

And Dom, it may not be entirely your fault either

Dove and I had an argument earlier today about us not being soulmate

She was discouraged about it and I didn't help one bit with her feeling that way

Dom95: I feel bad about the argument she and I had now

But also...

I_a_N: She's getting distant

Little_D0V3: I'm fine guys

I just needed some time alone

I'm on my way back to my place now

I also bought stuff for dinner tonight since you have practice till late

I'll just let myself in at the dorms and start making stuff for when you get back

Dom95: Dove...

Little_D0V3: I'm fine Dom

I promise

And Ian I'm not being distant

I've just been tired this week with looking for a job

I_a_N: Why didn't you tell me?

Alix_NOT_Alex: She told me last week

I even helped set up an interview

Little_D0V3: I didn't want to tell anyone because

I wanted to make sure I had something set in stone first

Dom95: So our conversation earlier

Little_D0V3: We'll talk more about it later

I think I'm ready with what we talked over

Anyway i'll see you guys later

Make sure to be straight home after practice
