Chapter two

You didn't have much money on you so you decided on a cheap restaurant you knew of nearby. He didn't seem to mind and was just content with getting food in his stomach.

You treated him and yourself to warm soup and engaged in small talk that lead into deeper conversation. It was actually quite nice to have someone you could so easily speak to.

"Kaito im a little lost on this one..." You start, setting down your cup. "You have an inherited all powerful cursed technique and can make all kinds of money and recognition as a sorcerer because of it, but you're a doctor?"

"Mmhmm. Im not into the whole sorcerer stuff. Fighting curses doesn't interest me. Which sounds weird because those deformed curses are just so attractive to the eye" He joked, making you chuckle.

You take in the information, nodding at his words. Tilting your head you ask, "Wouldn't some people people see that as...well- selfish?"

He took a second to think, placing a hand on his nape. "Yes I suppose you're right. But Im dedicating myself to people in my own way. You know?"

What he said made sense. You probably wouldn't want to spend your whole life fighting curses, wondering when you were going to die because of one.

You think back to the man you had met earlier that day. He was a curse, a curse with four eyes and four arms to match but he wasn't too hard on the eyes.

Although that attitude of his most likely has and will kill others.

Gojo hadn't asked where your wounds were from, fortunately. Probably trying to respect your privacy. You could already tell he was a very respecting man.

"Oh, we've been here for quite a while. It's now dark out." Gojo points out, looking out the window. "I insist on walking you home, it's dangerous to be alone at this time."

Not wanting to burden him you say, "It's okay, really. I don't live far from here" You lied. "On top of that, you were on your way to your office, remember?"

"I prioritize your life much more than I prioritize making it to my office at a decent time." He furrowed his brows. "Are you sure you don't want me to take you home?"

"Im positive. Thank you for my first good time im a long time, and for bandaging me up" You bow as you say goodbye.

"Let's do this again soon, don't keep me waiting for the next time I get to see you" He smiles, waving
as you grab your basket and leave.

You were now just a quarter away from home. Only 30 minutes left until you could hear your mom yell at you for coming home too late.

In the distance you see a dark figure, walking along the same path as you. You pick up the pace, excited for the opportunity to engage in conversation after such long silence.

You tap on the shoulder of the individual, a kind smile plastered on your face.

"Hello- nghh" You struggle for breath at a hand tightly gripping your throat.

"You again" The familiar man sneered. He threw you down as you attempt to catch your lost breath. Your apples had thankfully not fallen out of the basket they were tucked away safely into.

The man walked away and at this you quickly scurried up, running to catch up to him. He sighed at your appearance but kept his eyes forward, clearly not wanting to acknowledge your presence.

"What's your name?" You ask curiously but frown in disappointment at him ignoring you. Although, you persisted through it, deciding to introduce yourself first. "My name is (l/n) (y/n)"

The uncomfortable silence continued and you fiddled with your fingers because of it.

"Do you want an apple? I could tell you like apples back at the market place- I can give you o-" You were cut off by a hand grabbing your hair and yanking your head back to look up at the four eyed man.

His face was full of frustration as his second hand held a sharp nail up to your throat. "What's stopping me from killing you right now, princess?" He asked, pressing his nail onto your skin now but not quite penetrating.

"Nothing, I suppose." You gently shrugged your shoulder at his question. You wince at the feeling of blood being drawn from the side of your throat and his growing grin from your pained face. It was true, nothing you could say or do would stop it from having the upset hand on him and in the end it really was his decision to kill you.

He then sighed, tossing you to the ground once more. "Ryomen Sukuna is my name. Now leave me alone. Someone as weak as you isn't worth my time and your careless expressions are irking me."

"Sukuna." You state to yourself with a smile. You look down at your now dirtied kimono and frown with disappointment at the pearly white covered with brown.

"What a strange woman" Sukuna huffed, pinching the bridge of his nose. How could one person have such a care free hold on their life? Not one plea from her to spare her life.

Sukuna looked down at you as if you were a pathetic waste of space. The look wasn't foreign, you didn't mind. You lift yourself up, brush yourself off and at least attempted to stop the line of blood from reaching your kimono.

The man in robes watched you gather yourself before looking at him with a smile that was more to yourself rather than him. With a scoff he said, "You're ugly when you smile, you should do it less"

"Dully noted..."

"Farewell." He turned.

"Wait-" Sukuna raises a brow at your request, knowing he'd usually kill someone in an instant at such a forced command. You were different though, you bored him. Too weak to have an enjoyment in killing. An individual who clearly didn't give a damn about their own life.

Does nothing scare this woman?

"There's a hill with a beautiful cherry blossom tree and koi pond just 15 minutes further down this path and then a small walk off path. It's pretty and quite calming. I go there for stress relief, you should try it"

"Are you insinuating I need calming?" He scowled.

"Just something I thought you'd enjoy." You pick up your basket that had fallen off your arm and wipe yourself down once more. "I should get home now, I still have quite the walk and will have to endure quite the earful from my mother when I arrive. An adult but I still get treated like a child— Anyway, goodbye Ryomen Sukuna" You quickly bow, not waiting for a farewell in response and hurriedly continued down your path.

You kept a fast pace to make up for all of your lost time.

Sukuna watched you for only a second, huffing as he turned the opposite direction, not wanting to risk another interaction with you, and walked toward town instead.
