Amora's POV

A week had passed since Helios and I's unspoken moment in the kitchen. Not a word was spoken of our promises that night-maybe it was our pride that didn't allow us or maybe it was meant for the two of us. Alexei and Nikolai didn't question the events of that day so there wasn't any awkward questions to face.

Later into the day, Nikolai and Alexei joined me in the living room. The sound of laughter grows louder and louder as the liquor in the bottle lessens by the minute. A laugh bubbles out from my throat hearing the insults thrown between the two.

I look down at my glass, noticing the wine has slowly run out. Wordlessly, I stand up and make my way into the kitchen. Humming to myself, I grab the dark colored bottle and pour the blood red alcohol into my glass.

The rich flavor of the red wine hits my palette, relaxing my body. I stay in the kitchen for a while, enjoying the loneliness. A minute passes and I make my way back to the living room. Instead of being met with two drunk men I am met with emptiness.

My eyebrows scrunch in confusion and I turn my head upstairs. The unsettling quietness of the house racks my body as I walk up the steps. I carefully place my feet against the ground, not wanting to make a sound. I inch my way to Alexei's door and press my ear against the wood.

"He's going to be there tonight. There's nothing stopping us from going in. A deal must be made tonight before the enemy gets the upper hand." What I make out to be Alexei's voice say. Blood rushes to my ear and the pounding of my heart is louder than anything.

"и девушка? She's going to be our biggest problem if we act on the plan tonight." Helios questions. My eyebrows scrunch, they want to leave me here. I press my ear closer to the door hoping to hear more of their conversation. (And the girl?).

Silence overtakes the room. Every inch of my body stands on edge, waiting for a reply I already know the answer to. "оставь ее здесь. The bounty on her head is too much of risk." Comes Alexei's answer. Pain pokes at my palms, my fingernails dig deeper into my hand as my anger rises. (Leave her here.)

I inhale quietly, composing myself then returning my focus to their conversation. Not a word, sound, or breath is heard. Then Helios chuckles, a deep, dark sound that travels to the depths of my stomach. "And how do you propose we trap a burglar in his house. He knows the in's and out's of his house like his own name. Amora is that burglar and I expect her to escape." Helios explains, his voice holding question.

"Drug her."

I inhale sharply. What the fuck? There's silence again until the sound of a moving chair breaks it. "Tomorrow; do it before 6." Helios responds after a minute of quietness.

I lift my ear and silently back away from the door. Before they open the door, I'm already downstairs. Hate and anger boil within my veins. I can feel my ever-growing hatred for Helios threatening to spill. Biting the inside of my cheek, I silently curse.

No way in hell will I let Helios drug me.

Footsteps break me out of my thoughts. Rolling my shoulders, I relax against the cushions of the couch. Bringing the glass of wine up to my lips, I play into an unassuming role. "Amora!"

I turn my head and see Alexei walking towards me. "котик поиграй со мной." He pleads with me. A chuckle leaves my lips, "Fine but don't call me that." (Kitty come play with me).
