Aeri now stared at the empty house, which once used to be full of laughter. The house in which she and Jake used to play in, was now completely empty.

Aeri went home and asked her mother about Jake's family.

"Aeri-ya...you didn't know about this?...I thought that you knew, and you were sad about it, so I didn't bring it up....mianhae (sorry)...." Her mother said feeling pity for her child.

Aeri ran out of the house bursting in tears. She didn't know where she was going, but she kept running...thinking about how he left her. He left her. He moved to Korea and didn't even mind telling his best friend. That's all she kept thinking about while running.

She didn't know where she was, until her eyes cleared from the tears a little and she found herself in the playground wher her and Jake often used to play in, even when they were younger. It was the park, where Jake and her played in, when they first met. She started crying again.

Her mother grew worried about her, and went to look for Aeri.
Her first instinct was to look in the park where Jake and Aeri always used to play in.

And there she was, tears streaming down her face and her eyes puffy. It was evening. The same evening sky when they had first met.

Everything today reminded Aeri of Jake.
She didn't know this feeling. She felt empty.

Her mother slowly approached her, giving a light pat on her head. Ofcourse her mother was sad too, after all she had to say good bye to her best friend too. But she didn't show it.

They both went home.

Aeri's mother comforted her at night. Aeri couldn't even sleep properly. She kept sobbing quietly in her mother's embrace. She grew tired of crying and soon went to sleep.

The next few days were the same. She kinda lost her sparkle.

4 years later

Aeri's age : 16 y/o
Jake's age : 17 y/o

Aeri was returning from school with her close friend chatting and laughing. They were just laughing about their day at school, gossiping and the regular stuff two girl friends do.

They both bid their good byes after coming at a intersection point on the road. She walked home alone. There weren't many people in the neighborhood she was friends with, ofcourse, she talked to them, but some were too old and some were too young, nobody around her age group was there.

So after going home, she didn't really come out to play. She sometimes went to the skate park to skate board, cuz that was the only place where she could find someone around her age to talk to, and spend her time with.

And....she found someone....a guy. Felix. She often used to skate board with him in the park. They had grew close together. Little did she know that, this Felix guy had a crush on her. He was more like a brother to her. He sure was sweet and a gentleman, but she just didn't have a spark for him.

Felix was a pretty boy. He was a year older than Aeri and was in the same class as her. He was also in her school friend group. Almost everybody in the friend group, knew that Felix had a crush on her. He needn't to say it, it was obvious from the way he looked at her.

Felix was a popular boy at school. Like a heartthrob. He was smart too, that made girls at school drool over him. Many people at school were jealous over their friend group. They were rich, smart, popular, such visuals, and unlike their popular status in school, they were quite humble and good in nature.

Aeri was a pretty popular girl at school herself. She used to get a lot of numbers sticked to her locker. And a few confessions here and there. But she politely refused them, saying she wasn't interested/ready for a relationship yet. (A/n : Like she's 16 bruh 🙄. She's just a year ahead of her age )

She still thought about Jake sometimes and wondered what he must be doing there in Korea. She didn't show it much but she missed him. She was mad at him for not telling her about moving away. They hadn't even contacted each other in 4 years.

After she reached home, she saw her parents sitting in the living room. They looked like they had something serious to tell her.
