The shops downtown were bizarre when it came to their hours they had their employees at the counter. It would either be way too late at night, past midnight -- or too early.
At this point, it all just stirred together. The pay was good, so they did not really mind too much.
Today was a Monday, most kids were in school at ten in the morning, so it wasn't a problem to be sitting near the back of the shop while waiting for new customers. Most people who appeared during this hour were none other than middle-aged women, men, and college kids.
It hadn't bothered Deku. As long as he made money, it was no issue.
Yet, he did have difficulties with irregular rude adults who were being too harsh on a mistake he had made while crafting their drink, food, or snack.A thirty-year-old yelling at a nineteen-year-old who was just trying to make some cash for his next meal? No thanks...
Sometimes he thought about quitting 'cause of this. It pissed him off, he would be sent to jail if they pushed him closer to the edge.He would smack the nearest metal object over the top of their skull to knock them out cold. It does the trick, doesn't it?
He's becoming more bitter than when he was in his high school years due to a guy who he called his best friend throughout nearly his entire life. Hell, he did before he moved away and they lost all contact. He was terrified to send a message, give any sign he was alive.
He would likely murder him if he knew he hadn't done what he told him before moving away to America.Let's just say it wasn't something anyone should ever be saying, let alone hearing from a friend.
"Hello?!"
Izuku's eyes shot up at a male in front of him. "Hey, can I get a cold brew coffee?" He asked while pointing to a menu above the greenette. Deku nodded tiredly before grabbing a cup and the pitcher full to the rim with ice cubes.
It wasn't long before he was in deep thought again.
He had always wondered what happened to Katsuki Bakugo. Like, what was he doing right now? What was he doing? Was he a better person?
He doubted it. Katsuki wouldn't become a good person and he knew that damn straight. Bakugo didn't have any other friends that weren't complete asshats in school.
There were so many unanswered questions be had repeated in his head for years on end. It was as if were deceased to him. What did he do to deserve this?
Izuku set down the man's coffee before bringing him up on the register. He smiled at him, "$3.99!" He watched the man yank out his wallet and slide it into the card reader just before putting his pin number in along with it.
The male's card got accepted. He took out his card before snatching up his drink and immediately leaving the shop.
Was Deku being too harsh on these randoms? Was he too zoned out in a trance twenty-four seven?Nope.
Even if he were, they completely deserved this after all the bullshit they had given him.
Suddenly, A red-haired male walks into the shop. He recalled meeting him a couple of weeks ago. He gave off a strong aura. He loved it, actually. He wished he had come in more often, "Hey!" He greets Kirishima with a small grin.
The tall male smiled at him before walking to the counter, "Hey, Izuku!" He began while staring up at the menu. Izuku gazed in confusion; was he not working today either?
"Are you not on a shift?" Deku asked him.Kirishima nodded, soon looking back at him with a shrug, "I quit a long time ago, dude..!" He said, "This place is so low on staff that I'm surprised it hasn't gotten shut down yet. However, I will take two hot chocolates..." He told.
Well, there goes the only person he could recently stand. Izuku began to make them, "Who's the other one for, huh?" He asked with a smirk across his lips. Kirishima just grinned back with a cheeky smile.
"My boyfriend," He commented, "He's in the car, he gets impatient sometimes."
Izuku sprayed whipped cream on the top of both before sliding the lids on top of both of the filled warm cups. Holding them made his palms tingle. He passed them over to Kirishima while grabbing the cash from his hand and opening the register.
"You've improved since I last saw you, that's for sure."
"Can you blame me?"
"Not at all," He slid Deku a tip of twenty dollars. "Spend it wisely, 'et runs out quickly."
Deku watched him leave, now being in a way better mood now that he was twenty dollars richer.
...
As he left the shop to close, he gazed over at the building across the street that builders had been extending since two weeks ago from the present time. He wondered what It could be, was it going to be something he'd love?!
If it were a frozen yogurt shop he'd be over there daily. He had a toxic obsession with that type of thing. It was like a drug...
When he was walking to his car, he glimpsed a blonde and redhead in their car. It was Kirishima and his boyfriend. The blonde next to him was reaching in the back seat so he couldn't quite see his face.
Was he hot? He'd never know.
When he finally reached his car, he got in and turned the key before pulling out of the parking lot and onto the highway he stared at all day, dreaming of finally going home.
...
When he walked into his home, he was greeted by his puppy, Zenus. He smiled down at her while taking off his shoes. She was jumping on his leg as if it'd make the process any quicker than it already happened to be.
His mom had given him Zenus as a birthday gift during the summer. It now being Autumn, she had no idea how to act. She ate leaves sometimes, making Deku stumble to yank them away from her while she went to the bathroom in the morning.
He picked her up before walking over to the living room of his house and slumping down into the small couch.
His house was tiny since only he lived there. He didn't need to feed another human; a lover. That was the last thing he needed right now. All he needed was Zenus and his money.
Now that he thought about it he hadn't even gotten his paycheck yet from last week.
