"You're done." I spoke finishing my last client. It was late and I was so ready to leave this shop
"Girlll this look good, periodd! How much I owe you?" She asked as I put my supplies up, "$375."
"Here, have a good day." She said as I waved. "Whew Chile-" I started before interrupted by my phone ringing
"Hello?" I questioned putting my AirPods in so the other workers wouldn't hear me
"We finna slide to Khado house in a bit, you coming or you finna head home?" Ken asked as I cleaned my station. I sucked my teeth at her response cause I was tired as hell but I knew by pops was gone flip if I ain't take her home and he seen meechi car out there
"Yeah I'll be there, you there already?" I asked as she mumbled "yea."
"Okay imma call you back I'm bouta leave, I love you and send me the lo." I said, " Bet and I love you too." She replied before I hung up
"Always tryna leave her shift early." I heard behind me
"Girl what? I just got done with my last client. Maybe if you would work faster and shut the hell up you could be done too." I replied to my co-worker Tina. She been starting with me ever since I got here
"Girl whatever ain't nobody worried bout you." She spoke, finished her client. I scoffed at how embarrassing she was making herself look
"Let me get up outta here for I have to beatcho ass." I mumbled collecting my belongings and walking out the shop.
Can't wait to get my own shit and get up outta there...
I got knocked out of my thoughts as my phone started ringing...again
"Yes best?" I answered seeing bankz mugging through the camera. I cranked up my car and backed out
"Best listen listen listen, so this girl invited me to ha place right? Why she got spiders and beetles on her front porch?" He said sucking his teeth mid sentence, I busted out laughing
"you ain't go in yet?" I spoke catching my breath making sure to look back at the road so I don't crash
"Fuck nah, what if I knock on the door and a fat ass roach answer it? " He straight faced me which made me laugh even harder
"When she asked me to spendanight i ain't expect to have a slumber party." He frowned
"Best stop it now, you need help asap."
