Names Kalista Moon, I'm 20 years old and I am the lead guitarist for Luke Bryan. I have graduated with my creative arts degree this year and was offered to guitar for Luke Bryan on tour this year for experience. I've played many instruments when I was a child, I've always been a fan of country music and not much rock but some. When I was 16 my father was told he had cancer and didn't have much time left since they caught it too late. His last wish was to watch me play live as vocals and instrumentals for Eric Church since he was his favorite singer. Talledaga was his favorite song when the album was first released. He said he'd always want to dance at my wedding if I ever got married, but now since he's gone it won't happen. I miss him so much, he was such a big part of my career and still is. Anyways, to the story we go!

"Kalista can you strum a C for me?" Luke asked as he tapped his foot on the floor of the stage, as I strummed the C I mouthed the words to Still Fallin by Hunter Hayes. The song is so catchy that I can't help but think of it when I'm playing. I started strumming the chords to Still Fallin and the band members just stared at me and laughed. I blushed, I messed up but I had fun with it thats the important part it was the wrong song and artist but I still had fun with it. I stopped and started strumming the chords for Play it again, mouthing the words along with Luke so I knew where I was in the chords it was so normal for me to play these chords for Luke. Anyways, we were opening for Hunter Hayes in europe this year and I've never been so excited to open for someone since we opened for Lady Antebellum, and Since Hunter's lead guitarist isn't allowed to play for a few weeks since he broke his wrist on some equipment earlier this month he asked me to sub for him.

A smile grew on my face as I picked up my bass from it's stand, one of my favorite Luke Bryan songs from when I was in college That's my kinda night, whenever me and my friends from the Art institute of Tennessee we'd dance to this as we did our work from the day, it was a big hit in clubs that we went to. It jammed on my bass as the chorus was being sung, it brought back so many memories of my college days. As the closing song Luke decided to change it up and sing I see you, I began strumming hoping that I don't mess up the chords like I did in practice this morning. As the song ran through my fingers became numb since I was playing non stop all day, I pulled through the pain and finished the song with style in the performance. Next up: Hunter Hayes set, luckily I don't have to play much bass now. I stretched out my legs and drank my water, downing a couple Tylenols numbing the pain in my knees and hands. I relaxed and smiled as I jumped out on stage warming up my strings and getting ready for the next set. First song up was Wild Card one of my personal favorites, when I first heard that there was a new Hunter Hayes album out I smiled and bought it as soon as possible, all the songs became an addiction for me in a matter of days. I began strumming the bass strings for Wild Card as Hunter appears on the stage, I smiled and continued not being able to take my eyes off Hunter.

"And baby you're my wild card, my perfect little twist of fate you're my first spark shot in the dark, favorite part of everything" Hunter sang as he looked at me, as I mouth the words of the song and play the strings of the guitar. I smiled and continued throughout the set doing to my best not to screw up the chords of the song. After a few more songs my favorite song made its way to the stage, I began strumming as the other guitarist played a slower pace, as I play softly. He looked back at me as he sang, he made me smile and I barely know him. If I could get Hunter my mama would be proud, so would dad my thoughts were everywhere as I played the end chords of the song, we played through the rest of the song I was about in tears when I was playing invisible, that song meant so much to me when I was getting bullied in college. It was an emotional time for me in college, my father dying and I was far from home to be there for him in his dying days. To this day this song has helped me so much through the pain of my father's death and my family having a hard time with money and keeping me in college. It was always a struggle for me, I never really asked for much when I was a kid all I wanted was to be happy and have a roof over my head with food to eat, I was a picky child but I make dew with what we had. After the show I walked up to Hunter and smiled shaking his hand as I picked up my guitar case and headed towards the bus, as I walked past him he grabbed my hand before I got up on the bus.

"Thank you for subbing in for Sam, you did amazing out there. I'd hope to see you again on tour, if you ever want to get to know me or record something, just call me" He says as he hands me his number. "Thank you, it was a pleasure to play for you tonight" I say taking his number and smiling. "Whats your name?" He asked as he leans on the bus door. "My name is Kalista" I smiled as I moved my blonde hair out of my face. "That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl" he says smiling, I blushed and giggled, "I'll see you tomorrow for practice tomorrow right?" "Yeah, sounds good to me" I smiled and got up on the bus, I couldn't stop smiling that night.
