Kageyama, the boy you've known since middle school. Your friendship started in an off way so to say. Back then, every one know him as the king of the court, one of the most stubborn, hard headed players on the court. On your way home you would see him practice by himself for the next game. The first time he saw you was when you about to walk your way home, you were just about to leave when you noticed him as well. There was an awkward few seconds of staring, but he gave you a simple head nod and continued his practice.

His carried on for about a month, until a ball decided to hit you on the head leaving you on your back on the dirt floor. You hear steps running towards you as heaving breaths follow. " Hey, hey you ok". His panicked voice just above your head. You open your eyes to see he's on all fours, his head above yours, of course, you panicked, resulting in you jerking forward and coliding heads with him. He fell on his bum as you sat up your back facing him.

"Ow, geez you didn't have to hit me that hard"he exclaimed. " Hey, your the one who hit me with a ball" you exclaimed back. "At least I wasn't dumb enough to get in the way, maybe pay attention where your going". You scoff , but came up with a sarcastic comeback. " Maybe you should work on your aiming, seriously I never seen a player miss so bad". That got him. "HUH, ARE YOU INDICATING I'M A BAD PLAYER". You sat there for a moment, only to start laughing out loud.

This only made him more mad. He started to get annoyed, " Hey, what so funny? ". You only continued laughing, managing out, " Your face, it's so funny". You continued to hug your stomach and crying out tears of laughter from your eyes. He was annoyed, but then his features soften, seeing your face full of laughter made his heart squeeze a bit. He had also seen you around school, thought your one of the prettiest girls he's seen, even with your features different than most girls from school, but he still found it cute.

He scoffs, getting up from the dirt. Wiping down his pants he his stuck his hand out to you. This got your attention as you laughing fit calmed down a bit. "Come on, I'm done with practice anyway, I'll get you an ice pack, you get me milk and we'll call it even, deal?". You smiled, taking his hand replying " an ice pack and ramen and we're even". He looked away scoffing, "Fine whatever, let's get going already. Your lucky I'm done with practice". Walking in silence, you said " My names Y/N by the way ". He looked your way, before looking forward saying, " Kageyama ".

That's really how your friendship started. Everyday after school, you would buy him his milk and he would get you ramen. You both stayed close friends, you even went to go see his last game for the year. You did feel bad for the opposing team, the little guy with orange hair looked so defeated. Before going to Kageyama, you decided to talk to the orange haired guy.

You saw him about to get on his bus, you caught up to him before he could get on. " Hey, hey you orange haired guy". He turned around, a tired look on his face, but he managed to put on a smile for you. "Uh, hi. Is there something I can help you with?". You stood in front of him, catching your breath. Once you did you managed to say" I just wanted to say that you guys did good, don't take this loss as something to be sad over, take it as an experience to get it better. I know youll be a good player, your pretty fast. I'm proud of you". It was quiet for a moment, until you heard sniffling coming from in front of you.

You panicked a bit think you over stepped. "A geez, I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you cry" you waved your hands in nervously. He wiped his tears with his arms before giving you a closed eye smile. "No, it's not that, that just really ment a lot to me, thank you so much". You smiled back, " I'm glad". You stuck your hand out for him to shake. "I'm Y/N by the way" he took your hand, shaking it a bit violently "I'm Hinata, it's really nice to meet you Y/N". His coach called him to get on the bus. You exchanged numbers, he waved to you excitedly happy making a new friend.

The end of middle school came, the break finally happening. Of course you and Kageyama spending a bit of time together, him practicing most of the time, you seeing what class you would want to take. High school started and you were excited to say the least. You were in the gym with Kageyama, sitting on the stage while he was practicing serves. Just as he was about to hit his next one, the door opened with a loud bang. This caught you and Kageyama attention.

Hinata and Kageyama started at each other, the ball landing on Kageyamas head. " Ow" was his only reply. You immediately recognized him and jumped off the stage excitedly. "Hinata!! ". He seen you and got excited as well. " Y/N!! It's so nice to see you again". You hugged each other in a tight embrace, you seen each other during break but not as much. Kageyama watched the scene unfold, confusion in his head of how you knew him. A ping of jealousy in his heart.

Hinata finally paid attention back to Kageyama. The slight argument, going on before the third years came in with a slightly off second year that kept trying to flirt with you. To which Kageyama kept glaring at him despite him being his upperclassmen. You tried to keep your laughter in when the principals wig fell on the head of the third year captain.

As the school year went on, so I'm did the feeling you and Kageyama grow. After the teams first loss, you were the first to comfort Kageyama and Hinata. Hinata saw you as his cool sister that he would always have fun with and vent to if he needed to. Kageyama thought you were just a friend, but he saw you as more as the year went on, having you running in his head. Hugging his pillow as if it was you comforting him. You missing his presence some moments and wishing he was with you all the time.

The game with Shiratoizawa was an an intense game, the whole time you were cheering in the stands for the team, mostly Kageyama. After that final whistle, that moment of silence in the whole arena until the realization finally hit. We won.

The whole arena cheered and screamed in victory as the team hugged in celebration. Kageyama look at you in the stands, your smile making their win more victorious. You looked at one another, tears of pride in your eyes, you cheered even louder, Kageyama heart filled with pride.

Afterwards, the team was heading back to their bus, you were going to ride with Kageyama. "Hey, Y/N" you heard Kageyamas voice behind you. "Can we talk for a moment, I need to tell you something". You looked a bit confused, looking back at the team, they had knowing smiles on their faces. " Uh, yeah sure, just don't make us miss the bus ok" you joked. He smiled back "It won't take long, hopefully". He led you to the back of the building where no one else could hear you.

It was a but awkward, since was filled until you heard him clear his throat. " So, um, I don't really know how to start this. Um, ok so, uh. I finally have the guts to say this to you, and please what comes next please be honest with how you feel".

"Ok" you simply said, a little scared of what he might tell you. He looked up at you before shutting his eyes. "I like you, like a lot, more than a friendship type of like but more of an " I love you" type of like, I know it's a bit weird and sudden but it's what I feel".

You didn't know how to reply. You simply hugged him, which caught him off guard. You then cupped his cheek and made him face you, you leaned in kissing him. He didn't know what to do or where to put his hands so he kind of stood there in an awkward position staring at you. You opened your eyes to see his awkward look. You couldn't help but laugh.

Out of embarrassment, with a blush on his face he blurted " What the hell are you laughing at, are you making fun of me?!". You breathed out "No, no you just looked so awkward, it was too funny not to laugh at". He looked away in embarrassment.

You cupped his face again, kissing his cheek. You both made eye contact, his hands resting at your hips while your were at his face and shoulder. " I love you too". Satisfied with that answer, he rested his head against yours. Taking a deep, relaxing breath in, eyes closed just enjoying each other's presence. "You know I'm never letting you go right?" You giggle as his behavior, "Yeah, I know".

Back on the bus everyone was excited and happy for you two, Hinata the most. Of course with the occasional "Of you hurt her I'll kill you threats". But Kageyama made a promise to himself that he would never, ever hurt you, and that he would love and cherish you forever until his dying breath.

Hello everyone, I just want to do something for this book since I've literally posted nothing. So I really hope you like this, I tried to get him more in character but I don't really know how I did, I just hope you enjoy it.
