Chapter 2

"S-Sky? Are you okay?" Lace knows when I'm getting angry. I forced my fangs back into my gums and turned to Lace.

"I'm fine Lace" as I said that, mom was calling us down for dinner. I wasn't hungry for human food, I was hungry for a human!

I sat at the table silently, my mom was giving me strange looks as she was dishing up the dinner. Lace sat next to me and my brothers sat oposite to us. Mom brought in our plates and sat at the end of the table. It was silent apart from the noise of my brothers shoving food in their mouths like farm animals. Everyone was eating but I was just playing around with my food and taking little nibbles every now and then. 'Faggot' I thought to myself, most people would just let that go, but not me I won't let it go until I've gotten even, even a matter as tiny as this I need revenge.

"Right, that's it Sky! Tell me whats wrong, this isn't like you" It seemed mom couldn't hold it in anymore. She knows when something's up and she likes to know things.

"I swear mom it's nothing" I replied as calmly as I could but there was still a hint of anger, enough for mother to sniff out.

"I know there's something wrong Skyler so you may aswell tell me" Looks like she's not gonna give up, she never gives up.

"Mom you know me. Anything just about pisses me off" I tried to say that in a kind of jokey way but it didn't really work.

"Watch your mouth Skyler Amy Taylor! You're not too old for a good telling off you know!" I growled and left the table. I went to my room, I didn't bother slamming my door as I'm not like those real moody teenagers. I didn't want to let my anger get over me I promised myself I wouldn't be like that anymore. I lay on my bed a stared at the ceiling and thought to myself. Then I looked at my window then at my clock. 'Hmm it's only 5:45' I thought. I walked over to my window and looked outside. I watched a couple of people walk past and I started to crave human blood more than ever. 'It's been a while since I've fed...' I said to myself. I listened out for a minuet for foot steps leading up stairs. Nope, nothing. So I opened my window and jumped out and then I ran, fast, I don't know where I was going but I needed a sort of private place. I could feel my powers coming over me and my fangs wanting something to dig into.

As I slowed down, I came across a movie theatre with a ally way right by it. Perfect. I scanned around for the perfect victim. 'Gotcha' I found one it was a guy who looked like he was in his late 20s, he looked like he was talking to someone on the phone. I knew how to get him. Thanks to my amazing hearing I could hear the phone convosation.

"Okay David, Jenna will be there any minuet! Me and Sam will be there shortly after" "How do I know what Jenna looks like?" "Oh don't worry David, she knows you, she'll find you!"

'Haha easy target' I laughed to myself. I saw him put his phone back into his pocket so I approached him.

"Hey! David?" I said. I know I sounded pretty lame but oh well.

"Are you Jenna?" No I'm a rapist. Haha! Wait focus Jen- I mean Skyler.

"Yeah, I just got a text from the others they said to meet us down the other side of that ally an we all walk up together" That was all I could think of to say but he bought it.

"Um okay" dumbass... seriously! We walked into the ally and about half way down, I decided to go in for the attack. I pushed him up against the wall and my fangs slid out.

"W-what are you doing?!" luckily it was kind of dark and he couldn't see what I really was. I shushed him and smelt his neck. 'Mm I can't resist' I bit down into his flesh, I covered his mouth with my hand so no one could hear. I didn't drink enough blood to kill him because I really do feel bad about doing this to random people. I simply made the bite mark disappear and wiped his memory (that's how we get away with it) and then I ran off. This was it, I am full of energy and I feel much better. I ran home, climbed back into my room and luckily somehow no one knew I was gone. Phew.

I walked out of my room and heard the boys playing on their xbox's again, I heard mother washing the dishes but what was Lace doing? I tried to focus my hearing but I couldn't find her, maybe she was sleeping. I walked back into my room and lay on my bed again. I once again stared the fuck out of that ceiling untill I heard something. I sat up and listened, it sounded like crying, it sounded like... Lace! I quickly got up and ran to her room. She was sat curled up into a ball in one corner of her room, her head was buried in her arms. I kneeled down next to her, her arms had scratches on them, why? I slowly placed my hand on her and as soon as it touched her skin, she lashed out on me. I felt something slash across my face, I looked in her hand she was holding a knife. I wiped my face and saw the black blood on my hand that I just wiped off. I looked at lace with a sympathetic look and she was jaw dropped.

"I-I'm so sorry Sky! I didn't mean to!" tears were forming in her eyes. I wasn't mad at her for slashing me, I was mad for what I assume she has done to herself and I was mad at whatever made her this way.

"It's okay Lace! I'm okay!" I couldn't be mad at my little sister, she's my best friend and we have been through a hell of a lot together. "What's wrong Lace? What have you done?" she dropped the knife and ran into my arms.

"I thought you wasn't coming back!" so someone did know I was gone.

"Its okay Lace, I only went out to feed" I whispered while playing with her hair. She was hugging me really tight.

"To feed? Sky you know that's dangerous though! Mother said that none of us go out to feed unless we are all together!" Lace, eventhough she is 14, she is a very mature and protective person.

"Shh Lace its okay, I didn't get caught and I really needed to get my anger out" Lace looked up at me, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She sighed and got into her bed. I picked up her knife and walked out of her room, turning the light off and closing her door. I went back to my room and threw the knife into one of my draws so Lace wouldn't find it again.
