Sans led the group to the lab and to the 'women's bathroom', walking in while Alphys and Papyrus sputtered for totally different reasons. Frisk followed him, wondering how he knew about True Lab. "S-SANS THAT IS A- YOU ARE- GET OUT HERRRRE!" Sans pulled Papyrus into the elevator with Alphys and Undyne followed us in. "Y-you kn-know about the-"
"true lab? yep, i knew 'bout it 'fore ya were even born. it's where i was born." Sans explained, pressing the button down. "WE WERE BORN. IN A LAB." Papyrus stated, obviously not believing Sans. "yes as weapons, like i said." The doors slid open and Sans walked through the lab, ignoring the amalgamates and making my way to a closed off section of the place. This wing had been specified for him and his brother, only Gaster could go in or out. His digits raced across the old keypad that he could tell Alphys had been trying to solve for a long time. The code was ingrained into his memory, there was no reason to say what it was. They didn't need to know. The doors creaked and groaned as they opened, not having been used in so long. Sans walked through, after a moment of hesitation. He passed a particular room that he damn near pressed into the opposing wall to avoid. He passed a couple more rooms with name plates. WDG 1-S and WDG 2-P. Then he turned into a small security room? He immediately started setting up the monitor and put down a box of tapes. "watch at your own leisure, but i'm not staying." Sans then promptly poofed away, teleporting to his former room. It was coated in dust, but he didn't care. He eased himself onto the floor and waited.🧨🧨🧨
They weren't sure what to expect when they inserted the first tape. It was a skeleton nobody had ever seen before cutting holes into his own fucking hands. They couldn't understand what he was saying, but he seemed pretty excited. The second tape was of this skeleton next to a tank. There was something in it, but they couldn't tell what it was. It was barely the length of a ruler. He spoke excitedly again before they moved to the next. Whatever was I the tank had grown and taken form... it was definitely a baby Sans, with no sort of soul in his ribcage. The skeleton had his soul out and was yelling as he cut into it. Sans didn't react. It was very disturbing. By the end of this tape, the skeleton had put the soul piece in with Sans. The piece seemed to be avoiding Sans though. It the next tape, it seemed the the soul piece had accepted Sans as its new host, the small skeleton twitching and moving constantly. Finally, Sans was alive. Knowing this, the skeleton released the boy from his confines within the watery(?) tube.
🧨🧨🧨
The next was worse. The skeleton didn't love Sans, no. He fed him, kept him clean, checked his health. He was never kind to the baby. As it screamed, kicked, and cried. It hurt Frisk to watch this. Even the monsters were a bit unnerved. Sans was JUST A KID! Worse, Sans always sought the skeleton's approval despite this. Listening to his orders without question. Having only seen Gaster, he hadn't known better. When his magic came in at five... it got worse. At this point Papyrus felt bad. Day in and day out they'd either train in the the room across from this one, or Sans would go through painful looking tests and injections. Papyrus didn't know how many times he'd witnessed his brother near death at such a young age. Then baby Papyrus was introduced to Sans when he was probably in his early teens. Sans' sockets had gone wide and dark as the skeleton showed him Papyrus. They spoke harsh words to each other in that unknown language then the camera was dropped and Papyrus was left crying. After a long two minutes, Papyrus ubruptly quieted and the camera was shut off. That was the last tape.

Undyne took a breath. "Holy shit." She breathed. Alphys was shaking. "W-what the h-hell h-happened a-after..?" Papyrus had a pretty good idea but he wanted confirmation. He left the security room, seeing this place, these rooms in a much darker light. He inhaled. "SANS!"
"bedroom, boss.." Sans muffled voice came from one of the rooms, WDG 1-S. Papyrus walked over, hesitated as the others filed out of the security room, then opened up. There Sans was, huddled in the corner like all those years ago when he was trapped in here. "You killed him? The skeleton in the video?" Sans shivered. Papyrus didn't comment on it. "yes."
"And we fled to Snowdin."
"new home first, then snowdin. had ta learn how to live first."
"How does the human fit into this?" Papyrus asked. "can... can we get out o' here, i don' wanna stay here any longer.." Papyrus sighed and walked over, picking Sans up. Neither brother said a thing as they left the hall.2 chapters left
